I think it is also.. for certain things and pregnancies that are not high risk.. ook as I say that I remember my cousins first pregnancy, and they had her push too long, and her son had a stroke in the birth canal, and they had to rush in for an emergency C-section.. So I guess it depends.
My dr. shouldnt of ever taken me on, and as soon as it got bad and he got back from out of town and realized it went bad he send me to the U. For all high risk pregnancies I prefer the U or LD. I would never even now go anywhere else. They have just proven to me what awesome hospitals they are.
When St. Marks finally realized something was wrong and my kidneys were only working 30%, they sent me.. I knew for about 1 or2 weeks something was wrong, but was told.. we didnbt need anymore problems.. I was just told my son was being born with downs or T18.. which again they were wrong on.. my son was just miissing 3 digits on his left hand.. but oh well we live and learn!

Re: Utah
I grew up in a little town called Tujunga. Its near the Glendale/Burbank area. I still miss it though especially since my brother lives there. So which one of your boys was a 26 weeker? How were you treated at the U?

my oldest son Ricky was the 26 weeker, 1 lb 13.5 oz and 13.5 inches long. I was treated at St marks then rushed via ambulance to the U. thjey said if I would of been any farther out they would of life flighted me. I had severe preeclampsia. 180/120 when they found it and my kidneys were 30% working.. I was treated on a whole diffrent kinda meds before they said it was time 2 weeks later and I dealivered 3 days later 7/7/02. He spent 4 long months in the NICU up there, and they took great care of him.. They thought they were going to lose him every night, but thank God he made it and is very healthly now. I had a wonderful OB the second time and went to 34.5 weeks and was watched very carefully!
talk to you saoon.!
where were your treated?

Hi everyone,
I live in Salt Lake also, and had my son at 32 weeks because of severe preeclampsia and HELLPS. I actually had him at Salt Lake regional, but if I ever had another child I definately would not go back there. He was in the NICU for 4 weeks, and came home on some oxygen, but quickly was able to go off of that.

Re: Utah
Elliott will be 18 months in a couple of days. He wasn't transfered because he was right at the age they could take him. They take 32 weeks and older. So he was right at about 32 weeks.

Re: Utah
It's really nice to see people on here from Utah. I had a baby 7 weeks ago up at the U. They life flighted me from Jordan Valley to the U and I had her 5 days later. She weighed 1 pound and was 11 inches long. She has done really well so far, she's just had a lot of infections. I'm hoping to get to hold her for the first time around Christmas. I wouldn't ever have another baby anywhere but at the U. I felt really safe up there.

Hello? I'm looking for anyone else on here from Utah..... It seems like I'm the only one Here's a photo of my little one Samantha. She was born weighing 1 lb. 0 oz. and was 11 inches long. You can read more about her story, Sweet Samantha on my blog through this website. I had her at University of Utah hospital and am wondering if any of you have had your children there too? Let me know. Thanks
