Lindsay - It always takes me a few days to process. So much to take in. Good plan to stay on top of it.
I do tend to agree with Ethan's therapist. He has reached a stable place, for him. I do get that as he develops, we will likely have new issues to deal with and it's not as if we can't add appointments back in if he starts going sideways. Summer will be a good test. Once he's out of routine, or starting a new one, we start to see the "fun" behavior. She is going to see him every other week throughout the Summer. Safety net.
One of my nephews is in town for a few days. He wants to go to school down here and is trying out for California Allstars (a competition cheerleading team). Fun to hang out with him and show him around.

So funny story, yesterday my mom took Micah to the beach and they were playing in the tide pools where there are tons of lil' fish and critters. And she noticed him making "the" face and asked him what he was doing. And very matter o' factly he said, "Poopin' on da fish." Too funny! Lindsay- Pounce- love it. You go momma bear. Donna- Have fun with your nephew. For what it's worth, have you ever tried purposely imbedding surprise good things in the day? I've had kiddos have a lot of success reframing surprise as something super cool that we're all excited about. So the whole family knows that there is a change in the schedule coming, and everyone talks about it with excitement, and then at the beginning it's something really small and really fun (like a special dessert) and the kids know exactly when the change is coming. Kinda retrains the brain and starts to provide kids memories of being successful around change- which often times they have no memories of being successful when things go not as planned.

Donna, awesome on the fundraising! Holy! Middleschooler!!!
Will read blog after this.
Lindsay, Good luck with the kinder meeting! Katie, Happy teacher appreciation week! I'm not sure what I'd do on the movies. YaY! for boat days! Stacy, I had to laugh. Our walk, we handed out butterflies. Let me rephrase...I handed out the butterflies after the walk because, I was supposed to pass them out for the release before the walk, then that got pushed back to after the walk, then got deleted out of our whole walk. It was too cold to release. (never went over 50*) I had a few upset parents who were unable to memorialize their kiddo's. Also, exciting to get nominated for such important roles in your mom's club. Lauren, poor Lance and yick food. Totally jealous of island hopping. 5%? I mean, I'd rather brutal honesty than someone sugar coating. And you are stronger than that, anyway. It's only a number, coming from someone that doesn't know exact science's. Awesome on measuring wonderfully and at the electric car. Laura, HOLY HOORAY FOR GRILLED CHEESE!!!! Eww 1.45 hour bus ride. Dumb president. Jessica, *tear filled eyes* That Maddie is something else. And I'm confident you will have an uneventful pregnancy! Jackie, Hi! Yikes on the bird in the house. We had a bat in our house once....I've never seen my cat jump so high before as to attack that thing. Tracey, happy Teacher appreciation week!! Holy 34 posts I was behind! The weather here has been extremely unkind. So unkind it flooded our house. This is where I've been the past few days. We spent alot of money putting french drains in for this very reason. The damage isn't bad, but there none the less, and my whole house smells like wet basement. Mental note-Don't leave the dirty laundry sitting in front of the washer on the floor to get soaking wet. (it doesn't matter it needed washed anyway, but still) We've 2 dehumidifiers running right now. With that unkind weather came 60 degree temps, from our 80-90 last week. My dog. My dog, my dog, my dog. The brat just cries at the bottom of the steps. Barks, and barks, and barks until someone comes in her visual. All well and good unless it is 2,3,4,5,6 in the morning. Took her back to the vet for another urine and blood labwork, still waiting on those answers.
One bonus to things around here, T hasn't puked since 4/22, today is the 9th. Woot! Her OT therapist says she's doing wonderfully. Her developmentalist always tells us that.
It's freaking raining, again....boooo!! bbl...

Liz - I'm so sorry for the weather in your neck of the woods. How horrible for you guys! And it's raining again?! Hope you get a break soon lady. I think her name is Sunitha? If that's the person we're both thinking about, she works at the main office in White Plains, NY. Just e-mail James.
Donna - Yeah, when they get out of their (school) routine. That will be interesting to see for us as well. OMG, my little guy has started to put various stuffed animals (one only at a time, but limited to three now) in his underpants so there is a huge bulge. We don't react to it because I know that's what he's looking for. Hard to keep big brother from laughing though. So, I've taken 2 of the 3 animals and put them "on vacation." Another word he's now worked into his vocabulary. The bear has gone fishing and the elephant is looking for peanuts. Haven't taken frog away yet, but you know what's coming next:) I have a feeling if anything is missing in his environment, he'll equate it with vacation. Love that part from Forrest Gump. "He's on vacation."
Have fun with nephew showing him the sites. Lots to do there:)
Lauren - So cute!!!

Glad I'm not the only one up at ungodly hours. It's 4am. I don't see why from an evolutionary standpoint you can't sleep while pregnant... we should have evolved to get the best sleep of our lives during pregnancy since it all goes out the window once baby is here... Liz- Water here is extremely clear.. he um... is at the pool though... which thankfully was also clear!

What do you guys think of the Time Magazine's breastfeeding cover?

Lindsay: Ladies night wasn't so yummy, oh well, gotta try everything, right?
Lauren: HAHAHA!! Poopin on the fish, that kid of yours is hilarious! And oh my goodness such a little cutie!! Totally rocking those shades.
Liz: LOL on the butterflies, best laid plans, right? Live and learn I guess. I really dislike the cover, haven't read the article. I think that that poor kid is going to have this picture of him nursing come back to haunt him when he's 16. Not only that, but it's not going to encourage breastfeeding, nursing a three year old is so out of the norm and it's just going to cause strong reactions on both sides. I wish they had just done a picture of a mom nursing a baby!
Off to go get the oil changed and tires rotated on our car, exciting times I tell you.

Hrmmm... yeah... just saw the cover online. Very unimpressed. If you ever want to see something really 'funny' search what's on the cover of American international magazines (like Time, etc) and then what's on the covers in other countries... it doesn't make us look very sophisticated!

Hello mom2sophia11, I think you should ask your ped of the milestones of 4 months baby, he knows better your case. My 2 kids were preemies and they did things with their corrected age until they turned 1, they did just fine, more or less the same things 1-year-old kids should do.
Lauren: I love the pic, Micah is such a funny little guy.....
Lindsay: Congratulations on your acceptance.....
Liz: Hope you can sleep better, I heard a CNN report about that magazine, now you picked my curiosity, I am heading to look for it.
Donna: Awesome poker tournament! 60 ppl in your house, glad your DH helped you the next day.....
Laura: Trevor is a champ, 8 hours in a car is unbearable even for an adult.....
Tracy: I am so happy for you, to tell the truth I didn't had any doubts about your job, why are you moving now???
Jessica: glad you had an awesome walk day...... wow 19 weeks already..... I know you will have a wonderful pregnancy.....
Stacy: that is awesome, president of mother's club..... 2nd girls' night in a week? that is wonderful, ages since I went out with friends.......
First week of work, I am so interested in it, besides I love the office and my work schedule, I can have my own time, the only but is I don't feel so "comfortable" with the cases, even though they are in family courts, some cases had to be taken to minorship with crimal law, and I don't like it. And those are the easy ones, criminal law here is a nightmare, so I am in a dilemma, I like the family cases, but not the minorship with criminal law.... My DH told me if I don't feel comfortable to speak up now that I am starting....
Mother's day was yesterday.... It was so cool, S and V did a marvelous celebration at school, and I had tears in my eyes... so emotional........
Happy Mother's Day everyone here
hugs
Lorena

Lorena - I had heard that it was Mother's Day yesterday for some countries when I was at the grocery store. Hugs momma! Oh, that would be a toughy. Any way for you to just look/deal with the family cases w/out criminal or not really? Hope you can work it out.
Lots of calls today. It has been awhile since I've heard my phone ring that much: District rep, PE teacher, DDD coordinator, and speech lady! I'm lovin' it!
For Mother's Day, I had the kids' silhouettes done. I'm going to Michael's tomorrow to pick out some frames. I just wish the artist could've signed in the corner or something. Her name is right smack in the middle. Oh well . . . les artistes:)

Laura- Welcome to the Cafe! I'd say that's good news. Each kiddos develops so uniquely... I'd look for general patterns of growth in all areas of development. Lorena- I missed out on hearing about your new job... congrats momma! That does sound like quite a lot on your shoulders... Happy Mommy's Day to ya! Lindsay- Glad things are moving along with services. And doh! What a silly artist (said sounding French)... autograph in the middle. What a super cool idea, that's going to be treasured for a very very long time! Going to do like Micah and take a mid day napparooni.

Hey girlies...catching up.. Lauren first gotta say I'm totally jelly of that little cutie of yours swimming in that beautiful water...little fish. PS...and of his hair color.
Your dr is annoying me now...sick of all these negative Annies...whats up with them. Told you my dr wouldnt talk about my section the other day...told me to just worry about making it to next week of course in my shocked reaction he said he just meant he was being cautious because of my history.... made me mad!!! lol They need to stop wondering why are pressure is rising with all the stupid stuff they are saying and tell us all will be fine. Liz..I totally feel for you. My basement flooded once..and there is no smell like that. I hate wet basement smell...can smell it from a mile away. ps my clothes were in the same spot when it happened ...good luck sweetie...stinks

I need to take a few pics of the book to show you all...its a tear jerker. Then I'm totally putting it in her memory box. Absolutley was the cutest thing ever. She has such a sweet heart.
Stacy..I'm with you on the cover and it coming back to bite this kid...pretty safe to say the Presidency is out for him lol
Dont like the title either...*Are you women enough* its like suggesting if your not nursing a 12 year old your not. Personally I think breastfeeding is beautiul...just not when they can ask for it..or reach it lol

yes this is my third post in a row.. but gotta ask you all something.
My heart is breaking for a friend of mine right now....I'm going google crazy for her. She had a mc her first pregnancy..second pregnancy had a preemie due to the cord falling out. He is perfect now. She has desperately trying to conceive again only to have 4 mc in a row. She found out she has the blood clotting disorder MTHFR (same as me) but is already on the aspirin and will start Lovenox once pregnant.
Has anyone have any advice...shes had a million test done and they cant find anything wrong.. wondering if her dr missed something that only you girls could think of.
Feel terrible...shes such an amazing mom and friend. Want nothing but the best for her.

Hugs Jessica! That's heartbreaking! Is she taking extra folic acid? Just looked it up right now and it said taking extra can reduce the miscarriage rate and if I remember right some friends that have that take a ton extra of folic acid especially when pregnant because something about they can't metabolize it enough, I forget. Have they tested her progesterone levels too? I know a lot of times with recurrent miscarriages they'll put you on progesterone supplements as soon as you ovulate. I think Samantha used an over the counter cream even so she didn't have to go to the doctor.

Jessica - I have MTHFR too (heterozygeous). I am wondering if they should test her for Leiden V or Factor V Leiden? Maybe even Lupus? I agree on the Folic Acid and also extra calcium supplements (thrombophilic stuff). I'd do Lovenox over a Heprin pump. Keeping you and your friend in my thoughts.

I second what everyone else has said as far as testing. Hubby might also think about testing... a friend of ours who did IVF found that there was some incompatibility between dad's goods and moms... don't know more than that about it... they had be on antibiotics and stuff while going through treatments...
Stacy- Bummer on the no good food!
We're heading off to a super fun annual craft fair today that has a petty zoo... last year it was a huge hit with Micah.
