Come to ShareUnion 2012: It's the BEST weekend ever!!!

It is extremley hard to leave a child in the NICU. My advice is to do it on a night when there is a regular nurse who you are comfortable with. Let her know that you want to be called with ANY changes or problems. If it's a nurse you trust they will call and let you decide if you need to go back in. Then, just walk away. I know it's excruciating but you need to take care of you. You need to be well rested for when they do get home. You don't want to go back home and then feel like you have a million things to take care of at home in addition to taking care of your babies. The other option is to have someone else take care of things at home, maybe a family member or close friend? You just need to do whatever makes you most comfortable.
