so worried

leeshielou - 12:52pm Apr 14, 2012 EST

I am happy i came across this site...its been more helpful than others. My daughter is 4 mos old and she is very stiff at times. She has GER which im sure contributes some to the arching and stiffness, but im terrified it could be more. She was born on time. normal delivery...actually a fantastic delivery...she hits all of her milestones early..holds her head up straight all the time, holds herself up on her arms and chest, reaches for things, grabs toys with both hands, laughs, smiles, responds to voices, rolls over. all the normal things. but she at times is very rigid and has crazy uncontrolled kicks. she sometimes crosses her ankles, and turns her head from side to side. she usually does this when she is tired or getting changed, when she is excited or frustrated. she also startles easily at times. she seems normal in every other way. i mentioned it at her 2 mos check up, and the doctor said "well its an early sign of CP." just like that. no test, no nothing. just so matter of fact! so i now go to see a new doctor monday, and will ask him then. My gut tells me something is not right. she isnt as cuddly as i would think she should be, but then again she is only 4 mos. ive scared myself senseless doing so much research on CP. I just dont know if this is normal for a still very young tiny baby (she is only 11lbs now. started at 6lbs 7oz) or if maybe it is something more serious. please give any advice. i adore my layla so much and anything i can do to be proactive i will do. in the mean time, im just freaking out....

Welcome to Share. I agree with everyone else, stop researching CP. I would go for a 2nd opinion ASAP. Good luck!

My isa a 28 weeker has cp. She did alll those things you mentioned but so do normal babies. You need to see a neurologist. Not the internet. Plus she is still very young to diagnose it...
