Mom to a 25 weeker who is now 8 years old and a 38.5 weeker who is now 6

Hey Everyone! Ok, first let me say, Lauren, that picture is totally making me crave jelly beans!

Wowo, it has been a crazy week. The kids both started softball/baseball and we have practice almost every day of the week. I'm exhuasted. And as MFB gets closer, work gets busier. Feel like I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

I really want to go to bed but somebody still has to get the kids to bed and hide the eggs. Think it's wrong to ask my Jewish husband to play the Easter bunny?!? LOL

Katie - Glow in the dark egg hunt??? That's sounds like so much fun!

Liz - hope everyone is feeling better soon. Stinks when everyone shares germs.

Ellen - I have almost given up cooking. Anytime I start something Brian comes in at the last minute and wants to add or change things. So I just make him do it now.

Lorena - Glad you got some girl time!

Stacy - Tell Elim he has to sleep so the Easter Bunny can come!

Shannon - You have my utmost respect for trying to share your story with your students. I know it can't be easy, but it's important for people to know why prematurity is bad and why we need to keep working to make sure it doesn't happen to other people.

Tracy - I haven't even mentioned to Kimmie about the booster seat even though she is 8. She's not tall enough yet, so I'm keeping her in it for a while longer. She's growing quick though so we'll see how much longer (She's grown 6 inches in the 9 months!)

Akeelah's Mommy - Apr 8, 2012 12:35 am (#26 Total: 259)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Sheesh Jackie! If you put one of those stop action cameras on her we could probably see her growing!

Shannon- Me too. You're amazing momma.

HIiiiiiiiiiiiii!!

He is Risen! Happy Easter and Passover to everyone!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!

I hope that your activities for today were special for your family and that you all had great weather for great pics! Our weather was gorgeous today, but you know me.....no downloads yet!

The answer to the question is YES---I AM THE FAVORITE AUNT!!! His face was priceless when he figured out what that gift was. My mom and sister took a pic of that moment. I'll try to get a pic to share.

Jackie~ That's a dirty trick about not letting her know about the booster, but if she's not tall enough, then I'll let you slide!

The last few days have been a blur.....birthday party.... actual birthday...dying eggs.....prep for today.....Easter service....egg hunt and cookout......NAP!

Thank goodness I have Mondays off after all that, I'll need time to recoup!

esgf - Apr 9, 2012 4:30 pm (#29 Total: 259)

Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

Tracy- Congrats on being the coolest aunt. You have to take your moments when you can get them.

Jackie- We're going to have to do the same thing with Abigail. She is not going to make the height or recommended weight so she is stuck.

We had a great Easter and Patrick cooked a a rack of lamb with roasted potatoes and asparagus. Yummy. No leftovers so it was perfect. Abigail and I made some lemon bread (a tradition in my family) so we had fun. Abigail is figuring out that the rest of my family is together when we are not here and she struggled a bit yesterday but held it together and we went to The Lorax to distract her. All in all a successful day. End of the semester craziness here so I should go check on my students.

Jessica- I cannot believe the number of things you do. You are amazing.

lvazquez - Apr 9, 2012 4:42 pm (#30 Total: 259)

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Jessica - Little House, such a fan as well! I always did want to challenge Rosie O'Donnell to Li'l House trivia when she had her first show. I bet those Rice Krispie treats were gone in a flash: Yummy!

Tracy - Glad to know that you are the fav Auntie! I bet his face was priceless! Watched a PBS special on Margaret Mitchell yesterday. Atlanta and Peachtree Street throughout. It made me think of you . . . and SU 2011. Kind of surprised to remember that some Southern belles still have yet to see that movie:(

Jackie/Ellen - My oldest is not quite tall/old enough to go w/out the booster, but he does requently ask me if he can sit in the front seat. Um no! He's so sad when I tell him he can't.

Liz - Hope it was nice weekend celebration for you:)

Donna - I was in Chandler on Saturday. Hope your drive back was okay. I'll have to get you on the next visit.

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. Easter #1 was on Saturday with my parents and then Easter #2 was at our house. What to do w/ ham slice leftovers? I already put it with scrambled eggs. I just don't want the rest. We have an interview, well hubby, has an interview with Telemundo this afternoon. I'm just going to be there w/the kids in the background. I don't speak Spanish well enough to do an interview (yet).

Angel Love - Apr 9, 2012 8:34 pm (#31 Total: 259)

Lindsay~ Awww.....thanks for thinking of me! Yes, there are some southern girls who haven't seen that movie, but it's definately one of my favorite.

Easter recouperations must be taking longer than expected! It's kind of quiet in here today!!

Liz~ "Lurp"....??? I feel like I need a vocabulary lesson on that one.

    Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

Lindsay- I saw a recipe in Southern Living for some kind of Mac and Cheese with ham and their site probably has some other suggestions for what to do with ham left overs. My husband would probably say open faced sandwiches with mashed potatoes b/c that is what he likes to do with all left overs that cannot be turned into burritos.

It is awfully quiet if I can manage to stay caught up.
I stayed up working really late (for me; around 12) and could not drag myself out of bed this morning. Also they are doing construction on the lab next to me...so not inspirational. Oh well. Work must get done. Soccer started last night and Abigail was so happy. One of her best friends is on the team ( I hope that was a good move) and she is psyched for the season. So now we have four days out of seven with an activity. I might work up to Donna status soon but I think that is impossible with only one. Getting older is definitely more time consuming...
    Have a great day!

Come to ShareUnion 2012: It's the BEST weekend ever!!!

OK, guess I'll jump right back in... miss me?

Trevor was in the ER all night with a fever, they didn't even want to take his temperature. They were more concerned with him eating a popsicle. I tried explaining that he wasn't going to eat a freezing popsicle when he had a fever but no one listened to me. Eventually they sent him home to wait for results of a urine test... ugh, I hate the hospital

I miss everyone. Decided I need to be in the cafe more to stay better up to date!

    Akeelah's Mommy - Apr 10, 2012 6:49 pm (#37 Total: 259)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Laura- Wow... eat a Popsicle... interesting course of treatment for a fever.

Ellen- I can't believe Abigail is soccer age! I keep imagining her so much younger, but hello obviously she's aged! Why do they grow up so fast?!

Liz- I'm diggin' lurp. That's a new one on me.

Lindsay- Cool, what is the interview for?

It's going to be a crazy busy week... our walk is Saturday. Why did I agree to take so much on? Next year, I'm cruisin... let other folks do more work!!

    Akeelah's Mommy - Apr 11, 2012 12:19 am (#38 Total: 259)

Whoa there folks... slow down... I don't think I can keep up.

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Lol Lauren....is that a joke? Because I haven't been able to keep up! Busy busy over here, thinking it'll slow down after my final fundraiser this Saturday.

    Akeelah's Mommy - Apr 11, 2012 5:57 am (#40 Total: 259)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

I'm always thinking it will slow down after just that one more event... meeting... never seems to happen. Where's the slow mo button? It must be somewhere near that dang pause button I can't seem to find. Darn cleaning fairy is probably hiding both of them.

    esgf - Apr 11, 2012 2:28 pm (#41 Total: 259)

    Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

You know it is slow when I can stay caught up. Family Team Committee meeting tonight. Since I can't go to my main walk I am way out so the meeting only tangentially applies but we do get to do some fun stuff like go to Kmarts and thank the workers etc for collecting money for MOD.

Abigail has been playing soccer since she was 5. She loves it but is very timid. Drives her dad crazy. oh well, she is so happy. You'd think she was the star.

    Lindsay- How was the interview?

    Akeelah's Mommy - Apr 11, 2012 8:48 pm (#42 Total: 259)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

I love that your FTC does that. I think our corporate teams are very removed from the family teams and I'd love to see us mingle more often. Hopefully doing the Family Team Tent this year with activities for everyone will help bring everyone together.

    liz loschinskey - Apr 11, 2012 9:49 pm (#43 Total: 259)

    I love my kids!

    hi.

Ellen, I'll be on the conference call for the FTC. YaY!

That is ASSuming Tori isn't sick out both ends...Either end for that matter.

    "Mommy, my belly hurt"

Mine would too, if my number 2's looked like hers. I feel horrible, for her. Pedia appt tomorrow, and gastro appt in 3 weeks.

I'm tired. My body aches. I've got this nastinol infesting my head and lungs.

This weather is crazy, eh? Snow, hail and rain all in one! Yippee!

    Angel Love - Apr 11, 2012 10:20 pm (#44 Total: 259)

Ellen~ Yay for Abigail's favorite sport coming up!! Our area does soccer in the fall for little kids. The spring is for the sports on the diamond. High school and middle school play spring soccer, but that's it!

Liz~ Hope Tori is feeling better. Poor thing....

Is it bad that I don't know when our walk is??? I'm a bit "miffed" because they took the walk from my area (that I've been chair of for the last 7 years....) without even mentioning the need for change beforehand. I know, I know....don't be a big ol' baby! I'll be there and will be making a donation as always, but I'm not as jazzed up about it as usual and maybe it's a good thing since I have several other things going on in my brain these days.

    Madisons mom - Apr 11, 2012 10:41 pm (#45 Total: 259)

proud to be the mom of this little fighter

I would be a little t'd off if that happened to me Tracy. You put so much hard work into it and now you feel like its all changed. Our director is leaving in JUne...have such a feeling our division will be totally different after that. So sad...we have all become so close with him but he got a promotion which is very much deserved and we are very happy for him.

    Liz..Hope Tori is feeling better..

We do that with our corporate teams as well. Go around the group of us moms and thank them. They seem to get a kick out of it...we boost the ego's of the managers (kiss butt really) lol..they donate a lot of stuff besides money for us to raffle off for our fashion show and stuff like that so its just nice.
We had our meeting last night. So much tent stuff to do before walk.

Laura...really...eat a popsicle? What is it the Good Humor Hospital.

    Arnara - Apr 11, 2012 10:56 pm (#46 Total: 259)

    Hello girls......

Tracy: glad you won the Favorite Aunt Award..... I loved to be that, but with all my nephews teenagers it is hard to find that special gift for them......

Lindsay: That interview sound wonderful.... let me know when it will be on Telemundo..... or it would be local tv? or international cable telemundo??? Hey I can tell my friends I have a famous tv friend..... Margaret Mitchell I liked her book..... and I surely loved the movie...... just the end I didn't liked it..... I was hoping for something else.... not that famous phrase "tomorrow will be another day..." I love old movies, Dr. Zhivago I am looking for the book.....

Ellen: Glad you had a yummy Easter dinner..... I would let my DH get crazy in the kitchen if I don't have to wash and clean all his mess and "crazy" experiments ideas..... Glad Abby enjoys soccer... seems like miss V will be the soccer fan in the house, along with my DH..... S doesn't likes soccer...... Lemon bread.... mmm... sounds great! I love sweet lemon treats..... specially lemon pie.....

Laura: Hi, nice to have you back here..... sorry for Trevor's ER visit..... hope it was nothing serious and he is better now.... Really a popsicle??

JAckie: well I don't like driving around with the kids hope kids enjoy softball/baseball..... Hope things get little easier after MFB....

Stacy: you are another super busy woman, hope you could rest at night, and Elim tooth??? How is it????

Lauren: Another super woman..... Gee, just hearing you talk about your activities during the day, and visualizing you pregnant get me tire, and my feet hurt.....

Liz: Hope you are feeling better??? So how was titanic on 3 D???

Donna; Where are you??? Hope you are fine.....

Homework, homework with S, we came from the beach on Sunday, Monday kids had a Easter activity in school ..... I forgot I volunteer myself in January to host a kid for a week at my house, so I will have a new son next week, hope he is easy going..... Why my DH has to disconfigurate my computer every single time he use i???...... now he erased all my pictures.... thank God I still have them on the memory card.... otherwise I surely will be so angry.......
    Well I go now......
    Happy Wednesday
    Lorena

Hello Ladies! I am getting ready to post a new blog about Family Teams and your shirts. So get ready to post a pic of your team shirt and tell us a little about it!

LOL! The Good Humor Hospital. Seriously almost spit out my Sour Patch Kids Jelly Beans... that would have been gross.

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Lauren: Ugh, I know! I always think things are going to slow down and they never do! Now my moms club is pressuring me to take on a board position, no thanks, got enough on my plate now as it is!

Liz: Aww, I hope you both feel better soon!

Tracy: I'd be a bit irritated at that too, the least they could do is send you a message letting you know and thanking you for all your hard work!

Lorena: I ended up turning his monitor off last night until 3 am, so I finally got some sleep last night. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get sleep, he'll never remember it. His tooth is most of the way broken through, hooray!!

Day and a half till Elim's tubes get put in, two and a half till the garage sale, and three and a half till the girls' should of been due date. Then hopefully calm! I'm running around like crazy out here!!

    NathansMom13 - Apr 12, 2012 3:35 pm (#50 Total: 259)

Come to ShareUnion 2012: It's the BEST weekend ever!!!

The Good Humor Hospital made me lol. I think they were worried about the popsicle since he hadn't taken anything by mouth all day but giving him room temperature juice would have been smarter. He still has a fever, we're still waiting for urine test results. Since we are still waiting it makes me think his urine did grow out bacteria and they are waiting to see what meds will kill them.

Tracy, I'd be mad about the walk also. I can't believe they did that and didn't even tell you!

Jess, so sad that your director is leaving. It's always hard when new leadership comes in. I hope things are still just as good with the new director.

OK, I'm off to go make lunch that Trevor will just look at - he hasn't eaten in days. But don't worry, he is stripping himself naked so he must be feeling a little better

    liz loschinskey - Apr 12, 2012 3:56 pm (#51 Total: 259)

    I love my kids!

Laura, I understand not eating for days, and my offer stands....I can send you the neocate and/or send you the duocal...Yes, I've extended my offer.

Lauren, how's your BBelly? I think of you often.

Stacy, Holy! You've a busy week ahead of you. Elim, I hope you do fantastically in your tubing! YardSale--Hooray! Boo on all of the things you have to do for the yard sale, and huge hugs for the girls birthday coming up. HUGE HUGS!

I'm hoping I nipped the poops in the bud when it comes to T. Poor thing. I've been keeping a diary of her puking and #2's for the gastro dr appt. Since 3/29, she has vomited 13 times, whether behavioral and or plain old puking. This can't be normal?! And her # 2's that absorb like #1's.....since the 8th.(Easter, I'm wondering if it is candy intake((which I've taken her off of all candy since the 10th)) or no nutritionist?) or both?!

    bbl....

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Lauren/Ellen - It was a March of Dimes interview for Telemundo. Our walk is this Saturday too AND I am hearing that it's going to rain (again). Urgh.

Lorena - I'm trying to see if I can get a link. It only aired locally I'm sure. We are supposed to get a copy. Let me see what I can find out and I'll get back to you. It aired Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. It may have been on again at 10 p.m., but girl, I was already asleep counting sheep:) It was neat! The news gal said, " March of Dimes . . . une historia de un hombre y sus hijos" and I ran and got Raymond as fast as I could because I knew it was coming and I didn't want him to miss it. They showed a lot of the pictures which surprised us and then it had footage of our boys playing at a local park this past Monday. Not everyday you see your family on tv, so of course, very proud:)

    stacyat - Apr 12, 2012 10:00 pm (#53 Total: 259)

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

    Laura: Poor baby

Liz: Thank you! We've got the garage sale about 95% organized, the rest will just be done day of! Hoping it doesn't storm like it's predicted to. If that happens guess I'll sell the pricier stuff on craigs list and donate the rest to some thrift store like goodwill or something. Oh, not the girls birthday, it's their supposed to be due date! Thanks for the hugs! Oh poor Tori! That sounds absolutely miserable, and definitely not normal!

Gotta be at the surgery center at 6:45 tomorrow.....I was hoping for earlier so that Elim wouldn't be hungry by the time it is surgery time. But if it's an hour and a half before surgery like it says then he won't go in till 8:15, and he's gonna be MAD.

    Akeelah's Mommy - Apr 12, 2012 11:21 pm (#54 Total: 259)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Stacy- I'll be thinkin' of you guys tomorrow... actually... tonight when I go to bed since that will be closer to when you'll actually be there. Update as soon as you can!

    Lindsay- That's so cool!
