Hi my name is Gloria and Im from Corpus Christi Tx, I am 29 years old. I got pregnant in November everyone was so happy specially my son he was excited he was going to be a big brother. Everything was going great until I one day I got fever spiked up to 103.4 while I was at the ER my water bag broke I was in so much pain I didnt know what was going on I was so scared. The Dr. came in and said we have discovered you and the baby have an infection its called Corro 2-4% of pregnant woman get this infection. She then told me I was going to have to deliver cause the baby is still alive in ur tummy. I asked so many questions and all they kept saying is we are doing everything we can. My blood platelets were dropping so she was afraid that I was going to bleed out n we both were going to not make it. On February 26th at 6:37 A.M I gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl I have ever seen and God gained an angel at the same time. Her name was Savannah Rayne she was so tiny. She weighed 2.5 ounces and was 6.25 inches long the Dr. said she wouldnt have made it cause all she had was a heart she hadnt developed any of her other organs yet. That was the saddest day of my life. We buried her and everything that was hard also. My boyfriend, son and my family were so sad as well. My boyfriend took it really hard this was his first child and my son still cries often. I myself cry everyday, every time I see a new born or I see a butterfly since that was her theme or when Im alone and I think of her not in my belly growing any more or think what would she have looked liked or how she would of been or think of her not being in our family photos its so hard. I am still not fully released since when I got the epedural the Dr. hit a siatic nerve and im paralyzed from the knee down on my right foot. they say it will take a year or longer for me to get feeling back in my foot. As much pain that I am in on an everyday basis I am thankful I still have my leg and I am able to walk slowly but walking. I am planning on doing 2 walks for the March of Dimes one in San Antonio and other in Corpus Christi. Its hard for me to talk bout this to my friends without crying so was trying this out to see if this will help me cope with all that has happened.

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Welcome to SHARE Gloria. I am so sorry that you found us this way. Know that I am deeply sorry for the loss of your precious baby girl Savanna. I'm an angel mom too and I had other children at home at the time of our loss. Trying to take care of yourself and still be mom to another child is a whole other challenge. Six weeks after losing our son, my family and I walked for the March of Dimes. There were some tears along the route for sure, but I found it to be incredibly healing. I also found this site and when I couldn't talk to family, I came here. I hope that both will provide you with some comfort and support.

Thinking of you,

Lindsay
