Madisons mom - Mar 5, 2012 3:44 pm (#33 Total: 253)

proud to be the mom of this little fighter

Go Lauren on the vaca....I'm with you...any night in a hotel is a vaca to me. Poor Lance...hoping the sickies stay far far away from you two.

Stacy that is super cute about Elim. Love when they just start to walk and are all shaky and stuff. Love watching their faces as they explore...they always look like they are on a mission and gotta get to wherever they are going fast.

Hugs Sam...cry away. Noones gonna judge ya and who cares if they did. I can imagine how hard that must be for you...praying so hard for you. Want you to have everything. xoxo

Donna S - Mar 5, 2012 3:58 pm (#34 Total: 253)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Tracy - Get any snow yet? I haven't even turned on the tv to see what's going on in the world (beyond here and FB) this morning. How was your Sunday?

Stacy - So cute!!! Yeah, the chunkiness kinda takes a hike once they start walking. E and G were both pretty round (rolls upon rolls) but once they were mobile, that changed. Enjoy! And takes lots of videos. They change and grow so quickly!

Lauren - Yippee on meds working!!

Liz - Just got the scoop on SU. Oh my....is it October yet?

Yep, Grace is home. No gym time for me, again. Boo! Poor girl was a hot mess yesterday - cranky and she just wanted to sleep.

stacyat - Mar 5, 2012 5:06 pm (#35 Total: 253)

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Lauren: Where ya going? I must've missed the news about your trip! Or is this your mini-vaca over to Oahu?

Liz: Totally not weird!! I was excited for everyone to meet Elim, we all love meeting our Share miracles! Don't book your room yet though, not sure how rooms will work, might have to book through the registration for SU.

Jessica: Ha! Yeah, Elim is always on a mission! He knows all the closed doors and finds them within 2 seconds if I've forgotten to close em!

Donna: I've got TONS of videos, I just can't help myself!

I was THAT mom today, I brought Elim to the gymboree class even though he's sick, gave him some benadryl and motrin before going. I'm usually very good and don't bring him out if he has so much as a runny nose, but constant sickies and cabin fever kinda got me today. We signed up for a month of classes, we'll go from there to see if I like them enough to keep bringing him.

Angel Love - Mar 5, 2012 6:55 pm (#36 Total: 253)

Stacy~ (GASP!!!) A sick kid out and about??? No seriously, I completely understand and have been there done that!!

My favorite time of kids learning to walk is when they hold their arms in the air and look like little chimps walking..... Too cute!!

No snow for us.....the first day of spring is 2 weeks away and nothing even mentioned. Oh well! I'm loving the blooms on the trees and flowers already.

Donna S - Mar 5, 2012 7:18 pm (#37 Total: 253)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Stacy - I have done that very same thing. Shhhh....don't tell.

Tracy - The blooms are beautiful. We're supposed to get more rain tomorrow, but then nice once again.

I would really love to find a reliable thermometer (that doesn't cost $50+). Driving me insane....a different reading every single time, which is not a good thing when you're a mom who NEEDS TO KNOW!

liz loschinskey - Mar 5, 2012 9:31 pm (#38 Total: 253)

I love my kids!

Donna, just think, you only need to spend the 50 bucks once, and you will have it forever. May I suggest the Exergen Temporal Scanner.($49.99@babiesrus) NICU and home nursing told us to get it and it is well worth the money, accurate every time!

Stacy, I won't lie,I give parents of green snot nosed kids looks. I don't want my kid getting sick, but, you did already pay and it is only a month. I enrolled T at a place called tumble tots, she missed one of the 6 sessions due to her green drippage.

So tomorrow's the big day. -GULP- The 'ol dentist. I've been mentally preparing and started my valium for morning's procedure. -whimper-

bbl...

stacyat - Mar 5, 2012 10:24 pm (#39 Total: 253)

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Donna: We're still using the one the hospital gave us when Elim has a fever......he doesn't fully appreciate where I stick it but it's a lot more accurate than our 50 dollar forehead thermometer. Could you just get a cheapie oral thermometer and take it 30 minutes after they've eaten anything?

Liz: Funny thing about that thermometer, if I take my own temp going to the right it's always a degree lower than going to the left, wonder if it's because my hair is parted and hangs over on the left side? LOL! His was at least only clear stuff coming down, no pretty colors running down his nose, just when I suction first thing in the morning or middle of the night and that gunk has been sitting there for awhile.

I got a pedicure today, had a gift certificate for it, a friend though I deserved a gift on Elim's birthday. I won't be going back. She started off asking me if I chewed my toenails off..... Um....no, they just break easily, always have. Then she told me how last night she coughed and all this gunk came out of one nostril out of the blue. Um, gee, thanks.

liz loschinskey - Mar 5, 2012 11:05 pm (#40 Total: 253)

I love my kids!

I've taken T out with clear snot's and just make sure I wipe when I see it.

They say your hair and hats controls your body temperature....I believe your temperature difference! lol

Donna S - Mar 5, 2012 11:07 pm (#41 Total: 253)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Stacy - Yeah, I'd write that place off as far as pedicures go. That's kinda disgusting. Nice thought on the part of your friend though. As for the thermometer....I have three oral thermometers. And I use them all...and they all get different readings. DRIVES ME INSANE!! Oh and I completely agree...if there isn't a junky cough and no green snot, you're good to go.

Liz - My husband would really think I've lost my mind if I tried to justify a $50 thermometer (read about the three oral thermometers above). :-0
Good luck with the dentist.

lvazquez - Mar 5, 2012 11:10 pm (#42 Total: 253)

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Liz - I'll have to check out that thermometer. I'm so glad that a friend got me one back in the day. It's been pretty reliable, but yours sounds good:)

Lauren - Sorry to hear that your man is ill. Hopefully he'll get better soon with those meds. Hmm, there was some talk of a vacation, one night or more away, take it!

Donna - Sorry your kiddo isn't feeling well. I'm waiting for another round of it here too. Crossing my fingers, medicine cabinet fully stocked, co-pays holding steady, let's reach that deductible people:)

Stacy - I've had to do it. Don't feel too bad. Being home it hasn't been too much of a problem, but when I was working full-time and out of sick leave, yes, I doped 'em and sent 'em and just waited for the director to call. Never did though. The class sounds fun and it's good for you and Elim to get out.

Tracy - Yay for Ainsley and tennis! I always wanted to learn. I watch the various OPENS on tv.

Lorena - Sounds like a nice time of games and JUNK FOOD!!! Oh, yes, I KNOW that awkwardness you speak of and I hate it. Angel moms take a risk in sharing and I hope this classmate's mom was polite and didn't run away mid-sentence. I usually get the, "Are you going to try for a third, hmm, maybe a girl?" Urgh.

This morning I popped by one of my grocery stores and bought a few items we forgot on the weekend. This grocery store is a MOD supporter and at check out, I was asked if I wanted to donate. I went ahead and just did a $1 for the card. The cashier handed me the card and asked me if I wanted to fill it out in honor of a baby. That's when "my brick fell out of my pocket." I felt those tears start to form and I quickly wrote out a message. Safely back in my car, let 'em out. Felt good, but it's just such a sad time.

Arnara - Mar 6, 2012 2:02 am (#43 Total: 253)

Lindsay: When I was in US I went to a shoe store and they also asked me if I wanted to donate and that card, I felt the knot in my throat and of course I donate..... no this mom didn't said a word, I think that is more awkward she just started looking to the sides like finding a way to run away from me.....

Stacy: I have that microlife digital forehead thermometer, our ped said it was the best, so I bought it..... I had before that ear thermometer but now they said it is not accurate, and I am sure my kids have no patience with the mouth one.......and I am so scare to use the one the hospital gave us.... ugh what gross thing that pedi story..... I would have give you the "bad look" in baby class......

Lauren: glad your husband is taking the medicine and hope he is feeling better, my DH is in bed, with a bad flu......not so sure..... last night he had bad cough and fever....... I don't like to tell my story.... I don't like people feeling pity for me...... I can't stand that look.....but this mom was also telling me her hard time getting pregnant for a second time......

Liz: thanks for the tip..... Orlando..... so I will start saving my pennies........

Tracy_seems like your amnesia is contagious...... I went blank here..........

It felt so good to do some legal work back....pro bonus.....my neighbors must think I am a free lawyer, now I am doing some works for them, for free, 3 in fact but I think they are abusing...... but it felt good to do some legal papers, so I don't get so rusty....and to know that I still remember how it is done..... ok, ok, I called 2 of my colleagues just to double check that I was right .......Since I have been unemployed for 3 and half years, the Bar called me to make a revision of my notary work, since I have not done any legal work..... so I am gathering my papers.... it is like an audience were I have to state why I have not been working.....or my license can be revoke.......

Miss V has a zoo visit tomorrow with her school, but parents have to come, yes Tuesday it has to be..... I have my decoration class, I can't miss one class since it is little time and we have to cover a lot of things...... but I promise her I will take her Saturday......

S will start test in 10 days......ugh! I have to mentally prepare for that.......

Happy start of the week.....

Lorena

Hi Everyone! Can't believe I'm just seeing the new cafe! Can't believe how little spare time I have now. I miss you ladies, so I'll have to catch up later!

Donna S - Mar 6, 2012 5:25 pm (#45 Total: 253)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Fly by, Jackie??!! We miss you! Hope all is well.

Lorena - Parents *have* to come on the zoo trip? Strange. We have to have volunteers but not every parent on our field trips. Good luck with the Bar!

Sorry peeps - sick kids are all better but it's going to take a couple of days for my brain to recover.

liz loschinskey - Mar 6, 2012 7:02 pm (#46 Total: 253)

I love my kids!

Lorena, nice to see you still using the knowledge, even if it is for free. Good luck with the Bar. I'm sure Miss V will love the zoo on Saturday just as much as Tuesday.

Jackie, HI!!!

Donna, glad the kids are good. Have fun at the gym!

Back from the dentist. Good lord. I was there for 3 hours, the whole right side of my face is fixed!! Swollen and achey, percocets are kickin' in....bbl

mom to angels ethan and casey (3-7-07); daughters Kaelin Reese born happy and healthy on 3-10-09; and Kelsey Grace on 9/17/11

hi girls,
just a quick hello from sunny florida. i'll check in more another day. i will say though that traveling with two small kids -- exhausting. Carseats, stroller, pump bag, backpack, my sister's cpl things ... ugh. A toddler who had to use the bathroom at least six times on the flight ... and a squirmy baby. I think my kids might be birth control for her.

will check in after we get back next week.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far. I read something today that I thought was kind of fitting and inspirational for all of us...
Tough times don't last. Tough people do.

liz loschinskey - Mar 7, 2012 1:48 am (#49 Total: 253)

I love my kids!

Chris, Ain't that the truth!

Erin, have fun in Florida!

I just posted on FB 35bucks for a onsie, and 20 bucks for a Pittsburgh Steeler isolette cover. Less than a half an hour, I made over 200 bucks for M4B. I stole the onsie idea from someone...not sure who...it rocks!! Thank you to the unknown!

Angel Love - Mar 7, 2012 1:57 am (#50 Total: 253)

Donna~ $50 for a thermomether??? Hmmm.....I'd have a hard time getting myself to spend that kind of money much less convincing anyone else that I needed to spend that kind of money!! Yikes!!!

Stacy~ Too funny on the hair part causing a temp increase!! LOL!! Never thought about it, but let's go with it! Maybe we can be on Dr. Oz one day or something!!

Gross on the chick sharing about her post nasal drip while you try to relax!!!! UGH!

Lindsay~ Ansley participates with the Lifetime Tennis program and the age groups (meet a different times) go all the way to adults. Maybe you can learn!

Liz~ Hope the dentist appt. didn't cause too much trauma!

Lorena~ Start charging those people for your services!! Makes some money on the side! Sorry for my amnesia rubbing off....

New class started tonight and I'm seriously going to have to stay on top of this to get everything done. I've had this professor during my Master's program and I enjoy her classes, but she's definately has the work laid out for us!!

No news is still good news on the work front. I had to speak to my principal about something today though and it was really nothing that was pressing or required him to do anything, but I could tell he was/is really near the breaking point. I can't imagine the stress that they're under knowing that they're making decisions regarding someone's job.....life as they know it. Please keep them in your thoughts as they're having to go through this again.

stacyat - Mar 7, 2012 2:54 am (#51 Total: 253)

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Lindsay: Hugs!!! You got a good pair of Hollywood glasses?

Lorena: Lol! No one was any the wiser, I kept his nose wiped as soon as his nose started running!

Jackie: Hey!! Hope all is going great with the new job!

Donna: Hope you get some great sleep tonight so you can recuperate from the kids being sick!

Liz: Glad that you survived the dental trip!!

Erin: Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!!

Tracy: That must be a heartbreaking decision for him to have to make on who goes and who stays especially when I'm sure he thinks everyone deserves to stay.

After yesterday I was pretty sure Elim had another ear infection, and sure enough he did, his dang right ear keeps causing all this trouble. We're going to try him on some zyrtec to see if that helps with preventing ear infections any, this time we only lasted two weeks since stopping the antibiotics before he got another one.

Tomorrow I think I'm going to take him to an art class in the morning depending on what time he gets up! I think it'll be fun, no idea what we'll be doing but they said there's some age appropriate stuff for him.

Donna S - Mar 7, 2012 4:07 pm (#52 Total: 253)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Stacy - Art class sounds like fun!! Fingers crossed it's not another ear infection for little man.

Tracy - Oy on the lots of work for that class. Still praying on your job!

Chris - AMEN!!!

Erin - Sigh...hope you can relax and recover from your vacation.

Got some sleep last night. Hair appointment this morning - YAY! Need to cover up those grays.

liz loschinskey - Mar 7, 2012 9:22 pm (#53 Total: 253)

I love my kids!

Stacy, cool on the art class, I wish we had something like that around here.
Donna, I say, Gray gives me character...Enjoy the hair appointment!!

Where is everyone? I hope you are all well.

Busy day today. Nutrition at 9am, OT at 10, then developmentalist at 11. Ate lunch then Tori, Mike and I walked our whole neighborhood with the wagon and Raskal. Then we ditched Daddy and Tori and I went to the park and had so much fun. I stuffed her, Elmo, Dolly, baby,(her baby dolls) and her zoe/abby purse(can't forget her purse!) in the radioflyer wagon and off we went. I pulled for 2 miles, then on mile 3 we went exploring...leaves, sticks, puddles, the creek, rocks, blooming daffodils and admiring herself on the ground from her shadow. It was FANTASTIC. I always forget, how smart she really is.

I won't lie, my face hurts. It hurts less than it did before I went to the dentist, but it aches and I'm hungry.

Donna S - Mar 7, 2012 9:49 pm (#54 Total: 253)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Liz - I wish I could look at my gray hair that way. I'm not going down without a fight as far as looking anything close to my (old) age. Sounds like a fabulous day (once the appts were done)!!!

So Ethan's birthday is in two weeks+. For months he was saying he wanted an Angry Birds birthday party. I was so on it. Now he wants a dragon party. Grrrrrr......Trying to come up with ideas. Would you believe Cricut (die-cut machine) does not have a cartridge with any kid-friendly dragons? Sheesh. Any ideas?

stacyat - Mar 8, 2012 4:33 am (#55 Total: 253)

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Liz: How did the nutrition appointment go? Is Tori feeling any better? Glad that you had a fantastic day! I'm excited for when I can go out with Elim like that! Right now the stick would go straight to his mouth, urgh, lol

Donna: Dang him for changing his mind! I'm fresh out of ideas for that one.....

Art class was a no go, Elim had a poopsplosion right at the time I was planning on leaving, and cleanup lasted until five minutes after we definitely had to leave to make it on time. I wasn't gonna show up late to his first class, luckily they weren't expecting us anyway.

Poor bubba's fever is worse today than before starting on antibiotics, hopefully it's his body picking up the pace to fight off the ear infection with the help of the meds. I'm giving it till tomorrow night or Friday morning before calling back, not playing the wait a week and see what happens game again in case the meds aren't doing the trick already. He's fussier today too, which is not a good sign.

Sam, very excited for this pregnancy for you I'm not sure why, but I'm sending as many positive vibes as possible!

As for the gray hair....bah...it started back in '04(I was 27), got signifigantly worse with Tori in the hospita(age 33)l, and now, I just look at it with pride. People comment on it, I say, every gray hair has a story to tell.

Family day at the Children's Museum on this ugly rainy day. Might as well spend it in doors with my favorite gal pal!

Last class of Excel tonight, off next week, start up advanced excel the following week. YaY!

Evolution of Grief After Losing a Child

Arnara - Mar 8, 2012 8:47 pm (#59 Total: 253)

Donna: Tell me about it, those gray hairs are killing me and breaking my savings, I am going to learn how to it at home...... the worst part is that they just show on the front, back I have none....... Yes each parent had to go, since they are toddlers I assume the school was not taking the risk to take 50 kids.....but they rent buses, and parents went along with the kids......

Liz: ugh hope your pain is gone..... I am not so proud of my grey hair, but I am sure each has a story....... congratulations on your excel class ...wow advanced.....

Erin: Enjoy your vacations, and profit on your sister, that is what single sisters are for...... I remembered I helped my sisters with their kids since I was single, but since I was the last no one has help me........

Stacy: poor Elim, hope he is feeling better soon......that Murphy law, I can't never get out of my house with my kids on the planned hour, something always happen......Art lessons for Elim??? just to think I have to wash all that painted clothes ..... yes you can tell I am getting old.....less enthusiastic with kids.....

Samantha: Good luck with your Dr. appointment today..... I will be thinking and praying for you.......please keep us posted......

Tracy: I am sure I will not like to be in that principal's shoes...specially in a small town, were I assumed everyone knows each other....... I am sure you will stay....... I can't charged them, I want out of it, I did the job as an urgent favor, but now they want me to continue with their "problems".... I have not the time or the will.........

Jackie: hope you find sometime to join in here .....we surely miss you......

Ugh that Bar audience was boring and long.... and I trying to look *Smart* and very professional went with my high heels shoes, I didn't assume I was going to stay standing so long, I could barely walk back to parking lot, it was quick the revision and just few questions, why I was not working, If I had a public job, I just told them I was on a long maternity leave, unpaid of course...... glad it was women the ones that held the audience.......

Lauren: how are you guys doing......hope you are fine, and healthy.....preparing for the WE......

Weather is crazy here, cold mornings and nights, hot, very hot during the day but the wind is cold..........

Happy Thursday everyone.....

Lorena

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Samantha: Woohoo for being almost to your first mini goal!!

Lorena: Haha! There's only fingerpainting sometimes. She said a lot of it is sensory type stuff like a water table or cottonballs to play in and stuff like that when they're so little!

Liz: Yay for gaining some of those ounces back! Looks like a fun day!

We went to music class....I may try the older one next week that is supposed to be for 14-something month olds, I think the 6-13 month old one was too boring for him, he wasn't interested at all and I don't blame him because it wasn't all that great! I figure challenge him rather than bore him might be the idea.

I called the nurse, 48 hours post starting antibiotics and we've still got a fever and his night wakeups are getting worse (three times last night!). I know it usually takes 2-3 days for them to start working, but I'm worried he's already resistant to the bactrim since it took just once for the ear bug to be resistant to omnicef. I played the wait it out game for a week last time and was right that it wasn't working then, wish I had gone in sooner.
