Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05) |
|
|
Donna- I hope that Ryley is feeling better.
Tracy- I hope you know soon since I know it is job hunting season for teachers. I really hope that you are safe. It sounds like such a sad situation.
Liz- Where is your vacation?
Jessica- Glad the IEP went well. I hope the other busy parts of your life are "good" busy.
Lindsay- How did the appt go? Abigail hates blood work too. This one doc used to order it all the time. I think it has been two years since he ordered it and she still hasn't forgiven him....
Looking forward to the weekend. Trying to get a bit of work done and then I will pick up Abigail early today. She is at all-day afterschool. I offered to keep her home or pick her up early but she really wanted to go play with her friends. Hopefully they are there too. Goodness, my child loves a schedule. We have a work retreat next week at a nearby resort. Hopefully it will go okay.
Have a great weekend.

|
|
Donna: Sorry your kiddo isn't feeling well and missed his field trip. I'm so glad it's Friday and our Spring Break is in another week.
Liz: Oh, your b-day is on St. Patty's Day?! I know a few other people who have that as their birthdate too. I think sometimes people feel pressure to name their kiddos Patrick or Patricia on that day. Hope your MOD meeting goes well. If you get anymore fundraising tips, please send 'em my way. Right now, I'm kind of wondering if my team will meet last year's goal.
Ellen: The appointment went well. She looked him over and did all of the usual things. She noticed some low tone and wanted to do blood work. It's not urgent that we get it done, but she wants us to have that completed in the next 3 months. I'm hoping to have qualified for services by then and hopefully have some assistance with that. She recommended genetic testing for Fragile X to be sure ($). That sort of makes me nervous, but I'd rather know than wonder. When we do the bloodwork, I want to also test for Leiden V. My youngest bruises easily like I do and I wonder if he has a clotting disorder. If so, I just want to make sure that he gets ice immediately at school and things for those unfortunate spills on the playground. She recommended we try 1mg of melatonin to help him sleep. We've gone a few months now with him frequently waking up in the middle of the night full of energy. Some parents of kids with ASDs swear by it. I'm still talking to hubby about it.
I'm tired and I have my little one in daycare for just 2 hours this morning, so I better get a move on before I get charged for a whole day:)

Thanks Lindsay. He's hanging in there. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. We've done melatonin for both boys. Try to find the mint-flavored ones (we found them at Sprouts/Henry's). Helped get them on the right track, definitely.
Yes, Liz, please share any ideas you get. Don't we have a folder in the Get Involved for fundraising ideas for M4B? We're doing our poker tournament again this year (in May) which is our big ticket, but I'd really, really like to meet our goal so I'm looking for new ideas, always.

Aww Donna, that stinks that he missed the trip. Always feel so bad when they miss the stuff they really want to do. Our moms night out went great. We had 5 new moms come and join our committee. It really was an incredibly night. Somehow it just stays so intimate and a room full of people you dont even know you wind up spilling all your emotions about your travels thru prematurity and everyone just understands and feels the same way. The whole room was just a ball of tears by the end. So nice for these new moms to be able to open up and feel so understood for the first time. They become lifetime volunteers because they want to feel that way again. Yup girlies...all good things...thanks for thinking of me xoox

Jessica- That is a super cool idea!
Donna- Sorry about the missed trip. Total bummer!
Lindsay- I've also seen melatonin work for some kiddos... for others not. Sounds like the Dev. Ped. was very thorough.
Liz- So sorry to hear about the lost weight for Tori, I know you guys have been working so hard... tough when she's sick too.
This weekend is gonna be so busy it already doesn't feel like a weekend! Next week we're taking a long trip to O'ahu... that should be fun. Something about staying in a hotel just screams vacay even if you're going to Dr.s appts and working! Got a total hook up on the hotel from one of the Dr's Lance works with too! Score!

Lauren - Totally agree about the hotel thing. And a big woooohoooo on the hook-up for the room. BONUS!! While I love Grace's dance school, I am really NOT a fan of Friday evening classes. I'm so ready to just sit in my comfy recliner with a good book, but instead have to drag all three kids to the studio 25 minutes away. We won't get home until 6. Grace is supposed to go to basketball practice at 6:30. Finding very little motivation for that at this particular moment in time. Thankfully, it's optional.

Also hope you and Mr. Micah man don't catch it too.

Grace, being the typical middle child, is the over-achiever who wants to try everything and is pretty decent at whatever she puts her mind to. Hope Lance is okay, and that his germies stay away from you and Micah. Stacy - No bueno!!! Boogies be gone from Elim! Ryley's on the mend. Guess you have to get worse before you get better? He's still coughing a bit, and has that look about his eyes, but the fever is gone. AMEN!! He gets to go to his baseball opening ceremonies this morning, although I've already warned him he has to take it easy the rest of the day. Supposed to be in the low 80's today - think I'm going to sit him outside in the warm sun for a bit. Off to G's basketball game!!

Hey ya'll!! I hope everyone is safe from the rough weather that's been tearing across the country the last few days! Every time they'd call out a new state, I'd look to see which Share member lived in that state and hoped that their home was not close!! Scary!! Lauren~ Boo for Lance! Hopefully you and Micah will avoid the joys of that!! I am with you on the vacay---even when it's not really. Donna~ I hope R. is feeling better today! Glad he's getting rest instead of sleeping outside. Yay for the recliner instead of B-ball!!! Oh shoot......my mind is blank again, and I don't have time to go back..... Sorry!!! Ansley made it to tennis this morning--so excited that I get to see this round of lessons. (I had class in the fall and had to miss every lesson!!) She's driving me nuts since then though..... Never happy in the place that she is, and always wants to be on the go! No news on jobs yet, but did get a paper to write 1st and 2nd choice for grade placement when it's all said and done. Hopefully mine doesn't get tossed in the trash b/c they're giving me the ax!!

Stacy- Hope snoring baby was just cute and not an indicator of an upcoming sickie! Ok... I did stick with swimming... but that got started in school and that I was raised as a beach baby on Lake Michigan. Tracy- Ooooh Tennis... super cool! No ax whammies for you!! Donna- Enjoy the day outside! Sounds lovely! What did I miss... I'm sure something. The boys are up and at 'em garage saling... guess Lance is feeling a bit better already. Mike gave me the ok to start planning our Disney weekend!! Holy Shnikes! You guys get to meet Tori!!! I can't wait for you guys to meet her!!!!! (Who do I ask to make sure those dates are absolute final before I book rooms?)
My M4B meeting went fantastic!!! I blogged it, read it because I am so excited!
Lauren, Bronchitis...BOOOO! I was never a swimmer. Fat kids didn't swim! hahaha...
Stacy, Keep those stinkin germs away from Elim! I know, I know, easier said than done.
Donna, totally jealous of your 80degree weather. How's Ry? And HOORAY for recliners!!AND, I love Sushi.
Tracy, Thunderstorms last night and a flicker or two of electricity going out, but all is well here. I thought the same thing as I was watching the news. Watching the path of destruction praying for my Share friends.
Sam, nice to see you back in chat.
Jess, so glad you had a good mom's night out.
Lindsay, I've been thinking about you and your guy's appointment. I'm very happy it went well. I'm with you, I'd rather know than wonder.

Lauren - Whew on the *just* bronchitis. Coffee and computer in bed? Sweet!!! Enjoy. PS...nothing really "stuck" for me either in spite of swimming, gymnastics, cheerleading, and clarinet. :-0
What's this about Disney? I'm confused. Guess I missed something somewhere.
Ahhhhh.....getting baseball score update texts once again. Have I (ever) mentioned how much I love this time of year....baseball starting again. Opening Day needs to be a National Holiday.

Liz: Oh Disney vacations are fab! What are you talking about saving the days??? It is official that SU is in Florida or something like that???
Lauren: Sorry your husband is sick, and I hope you and Micah don't get it, been pregnant and sick is awful.... My father was like your parents, he put me in every single activity and sports, the only thing I like was Gymnastics, and horse riding, I did it for several years...... music, I don't have a good ear..... Oh hope you enjoy your Weekend in a hotel next week......I keep telling everyone around here that I am going to be an old lady with a bend back, since I am always picking up things they left around.......
Donna: sorry to hear about Riley, hope he is better soon... sorry he miss his trip..... I don't know how you can do it... I hate driving around, so I am a lazy mom, no lessons after school.....
Tracy: mmmm.... i am worry with your selective amnesia..... hope you get the job, glad Ansley is enjoying her tennis lessons...
Ellen: I didn't know you work on WE , you work too hard, hope also you enjoy your vacations next weekend....
Samantha: Praying for you, glad you are living one day at a time, and keep your mind busy....
Jessica: That lady's dinner sound great....
Stacy: ooh poor dear Elim, have you consider testing him for allergies??? my nephews were all the time sick, until they discover they were allergic, and that develop to nasty high lung infection......
Lindsay: that ped looks like she is going over all, I think it is a good advice to do genetic testing..... we did with our DH since Dr. suspected something was going on with us, with all the miscarriages, but nothing, we were fine.....
We had today the family day in V school, there are competitions parent/kids and games, food, and a sunny hot day. Valentina was soo happy, my DH forgot he had a dentist appointment in the morning, so he went and arrived later, so I had to do all the competitions with Valentina, all were dads, I was the only mom, but we had a great time..... Even Stefano was so happy with the huge sliders and minigolf.... we eat all the junky food we could.... and then I met another mom of V classmate, we started chatting and somehow I ended telling her whole Antonella story, she seemed akward, and I just kept repeating in my mind stupid, stupid, she must think now I am crazy, I don't usually tell my story, but she started asking how much time gap were in my kids ages, and so on.....well V is also having stuffy nose.....
Happy weekend everyone

Sam~ Tell it like it is....with pregnancy hormones, you were probably crying while you were typing about walking into that office!! Lorena~ I worry about my amnesia too!!! Seriously....is that a sign of old age or what??? Glad you enjoyed the festivities at V.'s school. Liz~ Fun! I love going on vacation, but not so much the planning. I could just let someone else plan it and tell me what to do. Donna~ How's the boy?? Hopefully he'll be back to full strength just in time for school. How's the recliner doing today??? Teehee..... Lauren~ I hope you enjoyed your quiet time while the boys were out. I'm convinced that others come into my house and mess it up too. If I could just catch those darn folks, I'd take care of this problem!!! Lindsay~ How'd the appt. for the boy go?? My appts. this week are only hair cuts which I totally don't mind! Love getting to relax while someone "plays" with my hair!! Okay---off to walk. Gotta earn some points for the team so they don't call me a slacker and kick me off!

Lauren: How's the man with "just bronchitis" feeling today? No such luck, he's had a low grade fever last night and today, at least he's a happy sickie though.
Liz: Woohoo! Yay for an awesome meeting about share!
Lorena: That sounds like a fun day with Miss V's school! Ah the always awkward conversations about our angels. Hugs!
Samantha: Hugs! We'll all be "with" you at that appointment, you can do this!
Donna: Ugh, bummer! Poor Grace.
Elim is hilarious! He is a total pro at walking now, and now that he can, he does, EVERYWHERE! He just walks and walks all over the place with no purpose other than to just walk! Always gotta have something in his hands or in his mouth too, jammies, paci wipes, my shoes, etc Kid's acting like he's trying to lose some weight with as much walking as he's doing!
