Ugh... another lousy day here. So fed up with sick kids! Matt went back to school yesterday, has been totally crabby today and Kimmie just got a 102 fever! ARGH! I'm really hoping she just sleeps it off because I'm going to go insane if she's home sick the rest of the week! Donna - Our school only allows fruits and veggies as snack during the day. but on party days you are allowed one sweet treat - but everyone always blows that out of the water and there is sugar galore! LOL Happy Belated Birthday to Micah! Can't believe he's two...
And Big Happy 1s birthday to Elim! Can all of these kids stop growing up now?!? Not much exciting for V-day here. Brian is annoyed that I'm in a bad mood but I wasn't prepared to have another week with a sick child at home and I have tons to do to catch up from LAST week. Seriously, I think I'm going to go bananas shortly.

2. James (think I did that right)
Yep... it's me. And yes, I'm still in Chicago. My heart has always been here.. always... even when I was away.
If rewriting math goals written by your kid's support teacher (are't they supposed to be good at this?), and compiling your list of questions and concerns (and there are LOTS) is a romantic way to spend your valentine's day then Kirk and I win the prize on that one tonight.
We did manage to have some wine, and to complete the task uninterrupted so I suppose that counts for something!
I'm back. It's been a rough year (and 2011 didn't end well either) so it may take me a bit to get back in the swing of things here, but I'm here and ready to go. I've missed Share for so many reasons.

Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05) |
|
|
Happy Belated Birthday to Micah and Elim.
Had a great Valentine's day and I usually can't say that but...Props to my DH for sitting at the Chinese takeout place while waiting for our order. They underestimated the time by 30min (and there are no chairs). In the mean time Abigail and I watched Sister Act2. That girl loves a musical but she gave me the best gift ever. For the first time ever, Abigail made me a card of her own volition (yes, that is how much she has avoided writing, drawing or using her hands in general) and gave it to me. I think maybe all of the OT, tutoring and confidence boosting is finally paying off. I almost cried.
Good to see yo Lorena. Hope everything gets better before your DH gets back or it sounds like a long week.
Gotta get back to work. So behind here (as usual)

Just found out that my husband was able to snag one of my classes due to my LOA. That's good news. Spoke with my Principal and she made the no job thang official for next Fall (at least at my current school). Putting in the transfer request paperwork as a formality. Looking for something part-time, again. One of these years, I will need to be at least a .8 FTE for retirement purposes.

Jess - How fun is that? I didn't see the lollipop thing. And what a sweet card!!!
Sooooo thankful for rain right now. Grace's soccer tryouts moved completely to next week. Just waiting to hear if Ryley's baseball is cancelled for tonight. Too bad there aren't rain-outs for therapy. I could so be convinced to stay home in the nice warmth rather than go out in this windy, cold, wet mess. And why does it always start pouring rain right when the kids are getting out of school? Sigh....I should be sorting clean laundry right now, but have absolutely no motivation.

Thank you all of you for your kind welcome back.....I needed that.... My father passed away Sunday 29th, he has been sick for some months and finally he refused to eat, since it was a torture for him......no Dr. Dared to do a gastric tube thing ( don't know its name) because of his age, then he got pneumonia......but thankfully he died in his sleep......even though we were kind of knowing this was coming.... it has been really hard for me, and
Last week was so hard.....it blow me that now I am parentless, and now I am in my angry stage of mourning....none of my friends came to my father wakening and memorial...... Many excuses ..... And not even a call or something some just wrote few words in FB......!"+@*#......we live close by....10 mins max.... so I am sad and pi"+@-#* off..... And this has make me think and value many things in my life...... But life goes on.... (Sorry I need to vent) Ellen: so funny to know Abby likes Sister Act.....mmm chinese food..... Donna: sorry for the traffic....wow that sounds so wonderful WE with snow..... Tracy: Enjoy that long WE........ Jackie: hope your days improve......hugs Lindsay: So bad you will not have a position, but sometimes I think everything has a purpose in life, maybe it is not the right time..... So I go to bed long day tomorrow, airport, school meeting, school mom baby shower, my interior design class (which should be drawing class, I have drawn so many furniture..... ) ...... And I have to finish my homework for tomorrow..... Good night Lorena

Lorena - I am so sorry about your Dad's passing. My heart goes out to you. My husband and I were talking last night about how much we both missed his mom and what a hole she left in our hearts. I wish there was something I could do to help ease your heartache. Lindsay - I'll have to go back and look up your last post... sorry your job isn't available next year (at least that's what I'm assuming happened). Geri - I'll go check out the madlibs thing.... Glad you ladies had great V-days for the most part. So Kimmie was diagnosed with the flu today. First confirmed case at my peds office and frankly, not the kind of "first" I enjoy. First to get to the newly baked cookies I'm all about... first to get diagnosed with flu - not so much. So she's out of school for the rest of the week. And because antibiotics do nothing for flu, there is still a chance that Matt could catch it. Going to lysol my house in the morning and wash our hands a LOT. And yes, it is 3 am and my mind is running overtime about all the things I need to get done for this week and still catch up from last week. Ugh! I need these germs out of my house!

Donna, I was praying for rain for you. It totally worked.
Ellen, I'm so glad you had a fantastic V-day card/gift. That is awesome!
Tracey, Hooray for Winter break!
Lorena, I'm so sorry about your father and your sucky friends. It does put alot of things in perspective. When my son died I looked at my friends who came to the funeral. It was a big eye opener. -hugs, my friend-
Jackie-Booooo for sick babies. I hope you catch a break, soon!
Things here at home have improved. I used reverse wording on my DH and I think it worked. Used his exact words..I did that almost 2 weeks ago, I think it's working.
We ordered one of those sleepnumber beds...a king one(never had a king bed or had to buy $100 sheets)...I can't wait till it gets here. I booked our vacation...Myrtle beach here we come, in July for a week(Neverbeenthere)....AND bought myself valentines day candy yesterday(onsale) because DH didn't even buy me a flippin' card. I can't wait to go to class tonight to feel super smart, again.

Thank you all for your messages...... Jackie: Oh flu.... poor Kimmie and one week in the house..... Liz: When my angel passed away I really didn't saw who came or not, all was a "cloudy" and I have little memories of that..... My father used to say that in hospital, jail and funerals you really know your friends....... It was crowded with my father, even friends of childhood of my brothers and sisters came..... I felt like and orphan...so glad for your vacations.... sorry for V day....good luck in your classes..... Donna: I thought you didn't liked rain...... it is nice if you stay home, driving is horrible..... Lauren: Thx! hugs to you also...... Jessica: so nice about the card.... Maddie is a special girl..... Ellen: Oh I must have skipped Abby card story, it is so nice, I would have cried also....... Geri: I was thinking what is a pleural noun...... Dawn: I have not the slightest idea of the presidents trivia.... but I would look up the answers for general knowledge..... great work, must have been a great work to think all those questions....... I woke up at 4;30 am, got ready and took DH to airport, my FIL just called this morning to cancel his trip with my DH, I mean he could have told us yesterday, and maybe I could have used the plane ticket, since it was already payed for.... but it just went wasted...... I urgently need vacations, or a change of scenario..... Good day everyone.... Lorena

Lorena: I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your dad, many many hugs and prayers coming your way.

Ok, maybe with all the birthday craziness I can keep up in here? Elim had his well-child check yesterday and he was great! Got his shots, poor bubba. He's taking extra long naps today. He was 29.9 inches long and 22 lbs 9 oz (did I tell you 8 or 9 yesterday Lauren? I looked at the sheet and she wrote nine, guess I heard wrong).

Through my years as an adult, I've taught myself not to be codependant(mentally).
I can't help but have this constant spark in my brain about Kyle, Kate and the whole family since ShareUnion. Today, it's getting me choked up/misty eyed just thinking about it.
I was blessed to meet Kate and hear the non detailed Kyle's story at Share this past year. We were making our sand stories and I mumbled something about having a plain sand story and how I wasn't artistic at all. She told me..."Everyone is creative in their own way." looked at my sand story and said "It looks great!"
It's not like it was this super fantastic conversation but it was then, I thought, Wow, she has a great outlook on things, knowing I had this plainjane sand story with a cross on it. Everyone went home and I started doing some research on Big and read his whole life story. I feel as tho I'm right there with every word Kate types.
I appreciate and thank Kate for making me see things differently. There is not a day that goes by I don't pray for her and Kyle. I check her ThreeLittleSaints and Facebook everyday....just for that next update.
I guess what I'm getting at, please pray for this family...peace, strength...anything you can think of and Hug your little ones extra tight today. I know you guys know this...I'm just putting it out there.
