I know you are sad. I am one of the 34 weeker moms and I understand where you are coming from. We have all been through a lot, remember that even 34 weekers can be very sick. We have been through quite a lot with Alex.
Hugs,
Katie

Liz- i am sooooo happy and relieved to hear that all of Tori's blood work came back normal, thank God!
I'm not sure about Sandifer????
As for your BIL, what a jerk! you can't change other peoples reactions, responses and general lack of stupidity. i wouldn't give him the time of day. he's family, so you have to be around him, but i wouldn't waste anymore time than necessary! hope your thanksgiving goes okay, give Tori a squeeze from me and Bella, she really liked her card!! I'm really sorry that your BIL was insensitive. He will probably never really understand all that you went through until he's had someone who he loves more than anything in the world be put in a life or death situation like yours.
I completely understand how you feel about your premature child being in a different scenario from other premature babies because I had my little boy at 25 weeks. At the time, I was earnestly searching at our hospital for other stories of babies who were born that early who had made it, but we could only find one little girl who made it. When I went to a parent support group at our hospital, the other parent had her baby at 34 or 35 weeks gestation and their baby was in the hospital for 2 weeks and was about to be discharged from the hospital. My little boy was in the hospital for 4 months and still had not made it out of the NICU yet. He still needed one more surgery before we could even think about him being close to leaving. In the end, our little boy made it home. But I understand what you mean about not feeling like your child was in the situation as other preemies. For some people, they will never fully understand all of the heartache, frustrations, fear and living life on the brink of death each and every day the way that you did.
I'm glad that you blogged about your experience, however. I hope that you will continue to share your journey with us because there is so much that I have learned from you and others here.
Thank you so much,
Mary
