Thank you all, thanks for keeping my little bun and me in your prayers.
Stacy- You're right, some doctors just talk and don't really know what they're talking about, they can't predict the future. I'm really hoping to get far enough so my boy doesn't have to go to the NICU. Just the thought of that scares me. I was moved to the high risk perinatal unit shortly after we arrived and just the thought of being there freaked me out. Thank you for your prayers. I know how much you went through also to make sure lttle Elim made here on time, he's just so darn cute!
I have two appointments on Tuesday and my 2nd P17 shot, my first one hurt but it doesn't matter as long as it helps me carry my boy a little longer. I'm taking it easy at home, hubby and Chris have been so good to me, also my parents, my mom took Chris today, he left pretty happy.

I hope so too Maria! I never thought I'd see 38 weeks when I was admitted at 28! P17 hurts, but you're right it is so worth it! After getting so many of them they quit hurting so much, so here's to hoping this one is better!

Yes the 17 P shots hurt, but the Dr. in our NICU said they actually can help the babies grow better too, since the uterus is not irritated, the placenta is able to better pass the nutrients, ect. to the baby.. Our NEO said our twins were actually about a pound bigger than they should have been when they were born at 26+3, and she attributed it to the 17P..
Ok~ Question for all.... When do you put multiples in toddler beds?? I have 2 of 3 who can now climb out of their cribs! I'm so afraid that someone's going to get hurt, either climbing out of bed, or climbing into bed with someone else.. yet, at the same time I'm terrified to take that step into toddler beds... We currently have Tiffany with a crib tent, and Peter and Marc just in cribs.. Should I buy another crib tent? or two? or invest in 3 toddler beds? ~Sarah~

Maria, you know you can make it...as Stacy said they only guess and doctors often tell us the worst case scenarios...you can make it...I was 23 weeks when I went in with Ian and I made it to 38 weeks. I know you can too.

Sarah~ Your boys were both around 3 lbs. right?? My girls were born at 27 weeks and they were 1lb. 4 oz. and 2lbs. 2oz. so they were a bit bigger..... As for the bed question....I guess it would depend on how much you trust them to be able to get out of the bed on their own... If you don't think they'll leave their beds, they you could go ahead with a bed for them, but if you think they'll terrorize the house all night---maybe a crib tent would work better. Maria~ How are you???

MAría: So sorry to hear all what have been happening to you...... somehow I skipped your posts. I am sure you will hold until 38 weeks +....... Well I never had IC and so no cerclage..... I have IU and all my children were premature. I took Procardia since I was 22 weeks with Valentina (my last baby), P17 shots since I was 15 weeks, so sore (beside I am a chicken for needles) but what I think that saved my pregnancy was my self imposed bed rest..... please limit your activities and put your feet up in bed..... no matter what...... I truely hope you don´t have to pass the NICU, and yo estaré rezando por ti y por tu bebé, y todas tienen razón mejor decirle a tu mamá de la forma más tranquila posible, para que no se asuste tanto y posiblemente te pueda ayudar en casa. Muchas bendiciones,
Lorena

~ Angel Love, yes, my twins were 26 + 3, Peter was 2 lbs 13.25 oz, Marc was 2 lbs 10.5 oz (1280 and 1200 grams).. The Neo praised the 17P up and down for their size.. All my kids were pretty big though, they were all over 6 lbs 6 oz at 34 weeks. Well, I put Tiffany in a toddler bed, since she's the oldest (and most mature, I think it's because she's a girl ) and put Peter in the one crib tent that I do have, Marc doesn't climb out yet, knock on wood, but I'm sure that's not too far away.. They've been in bed over an hour, and they're still fooling around. It's gunna be a long night!! ~Maria- Everyone is right, the Dr's don't know anything!! I continue to pray that your little one is a healthy full termer!!

Thank you all so much. I'm doing good, I have two appointments tomorrow, cervical check, ultrasound, P17 shot, and I get to see my high risk doctor. I called them and demanded all my appointments be with her from now on, since they were mostly with the midwife, she was good but I really need more closer monitoring. I'm also going to ask if they can be closer, they were every 4 weeks I think 3 weeks should be ok, maybe even every 2 weeks. While in the hospital I saw my peri, he's so nice and reassuring, he said they might take the cerclages out sooner because I keep having high blood pressure sometimes, no meds for that yet. Wow, I can't believe P17 shots actually help the baby grow even more, thats great! I'm nervous about the needle but whatever it takes to get my Johnathan here on time, chunky, and healthy. During my last US at the hospital the tech said he weighted 1lb. 7oz.
Sarah- I have no experience with multiples, I really want twin girls next time though, lol. That would be awesome! Chris never go out of his crib, but when he turned 2 we got him a car bed, now that he's almost 5 he's getting his first bed, we're still deciding on whether to get him a twin or a full, he's not excited though. I think tents are better, they'll eventually grow out of that stage. Good luck!

Maria - Let us know how things go. Sarah - Sounds like you've done the right thing. Kimmie never climbed out of her crib. She went into a toddler bed when she was 3. She was 4 before she would get out of bed without someone in the room. I would be downstairs and she would be screaming my name upstairs and would stay in bed until I came up and opened the door - despite me yelling "get out of bed" back at her from downstairs. Matt climbed out twice and then we decided it was safer to move to a toddler bed. I figured he'd be out of bed playing all hours of the night, but he did great with it. My kids are still really good about bedtime and staying in bed. But whenever they stay in the same room (at grandma's mostly) they talk and screw around for a long time. I suppose that is normal though.

I had my appointments today. We saw Johnathan, he's so darn cute, I can already imagine him. He's growing fine, the tech said 1lb 9 oz. He's also in the head down position. My cervix looks good, good length and closed. We went back to see my high risk OB, she said to stay at home as much as possible, and if I went out, no walking for a long period of time, I'm already doing that. She also had the nurse give me steriods for my baby's lungs in case he came early, I'll have my second dose tomorrow, let me just say those are sooooo painful, my arm hurts so bad! I came home and put a hot patch over it and went right to sleep. The P17 shot wasn't that bad. But anything to get my boy here on time a healthy.

Glad the appt went well, Maria. I didn't mind the 17P shots and I don't remember the steroid shot (I only had 1 before Kimmie made her arrival) - I was so drugged up on Mag when I got them that I don't remember hardly anything. You're doing great! I'm so glad to hear that.

Maria- I am glad the appt went well. I am with Jackie, I was a bit out of it for the steroids but I hear it hurts if you are not...
This has been quite the week here. Nothing awful but lots of bits of not great news and to top it off we have to put Abigail back on more calorie intake drinks. She hates them. It is such a fight and DH fights that part of it too so I feel like the bad guy. Really, I so thought we were past it. I know things could be so much worse and should not complain but it has just been that kind of "ugh" week.

Jackie~ I thought the smiles were for a good checkup for Maria and the pouty face was for Ellen's high calorie drinks for Abigail....LOL! Maria~ I had those steriod shots on of the few times I was not on Mag. and you're so right----THEY HURT!!! I can take shots like a pro, but when that nurse hit me with that, I yelled out! I want to know how you talked them into giving it in your arm....they got me right in the hip! OUCH!!!! Ellen~ Sorry that Abigail is having to drink the "gross stuff" again. I wish that she could shake that so that she could get away from that stuff. Speaking of weight---Ansley called me on Monday night and said, "Momma, guess how much I weigh!" I told her that I didn't know and she made me guess so I guessed 55 lbs. She said..."Point what??" I guessed point 4 and she got ill with me for guessing it exactly right!! She's such a silly girl, but is proud of her pounds these days!

Maria~ I think 1 lb 9 oz is a great size!! My son Marc went down to 1 lb 9 oz after his birth.. He lost over a pound! They were never allowed to tell us a weight during sonograms, we were only allowed to know the lenght, weird huhn? I'm glad you're getting the steriods, I've heard wonderful things about them.. I wish we had known in time for me to get them for the twins, I didn't know I was in labor until Peter was crowning (oops) .
Ellen~ Can you mix chocolate mix or a flavoring in her high cal drinks?
Tracy~ It's funny the things that irk our kids, isn't it? It's been a long few nights with our new sleeping arrangements.. Peter doesn't mind the tent until he realizes he can't get out.. Marc doesn'tlike the fact that he can't reach in and take toys out fo Peter's crib, and Tiff is having a ball running around the whole room.... No napes yesterday made bedtime easier, but the evening was he**.. 3 crabby 2 year olds, are NOT fun!! I guess it's a trade off we will have to make for now..

Sarah - Hope the chaos is a short term thing. Brian and I made a deal when we got married... I let him be right up until we had kids, then we both knew we'd never get to be right while the kids were around, and I get my turn to be right when the kids move out. I figure I get the longest chance to be right... poor Brian only got 2 years! Don't remember where the steroid shots went... hate that everything is a haze from all the mag.

Tracy- The nurse said I could get it on my rear end or my arm. I chose my arm since she said it hurt really bad and I knew the P17 shot would also hurt. I got my second and last dose of the steroids yesterday so now I have both arms in pain.
I was soooo irritable afterwards. It was just Chris and I and I had to drive him to the dentist to get two cavities filled in only to get there and the receptionist say that there was an insurance problem so they couldn't see him. She called me the day before to confirm so why didn't she tell me? I'm usually always in a good mood but I was in so much pain, it was too hot, and I did not even want to talk. I told her I would reschedule and left, came home and went right to sleep. I feel better today, hopefully hubby takes us out to dinner, he invited me out last night but I was in so much pain I said no. He's such a great man.
At the beggining on my pregnancy, Chris wanted me to carry him all the time, he's very heavy though so I haven't carried him in months. Anyways, when Johnathan kicks me hard and I say, "ouch Johnathan", he'll ask, "is baby Johnathan hurting you?" I say yeah he's kicking me pretty hard, and he'll answer, "thats not very nice", its so cute! Now all preggo ladies he sees have a Johnathan inside their belly.

Why are you driving????? with all you have been throu you are not suppose to be driving or carrying Chris in arms........ Remember you had a preterm alarm so be careful and take it seriously.......

Tracy: Ansley will be happy with me I am a terrible guesser.... Yes, so happy she doesn't mind her weight.......
Sarah: How kids are getting along in their beds????? Really I can't imagine with 3 kids crying...... I will get insane...... for me the worst part is when kids cry....... I give them anything to stop the crying........

Lorena- I'm taking it easy, I think I've managed to take things way more easy than before. I used to be so active that sometimes I don't even feel like myself. I'm not walking as much too, and hubby is doing all the grocery shopping, etc. He's so much help. Do yall also celebrate Mother's Day on the 10th? If so, Feliz Dia de la Madres!
Ellen- I hope the drinks are helping enough so she won't have to take them for a longer time.
I have my weekly OB appointment tomorrow and P17 shot. I'm not nervous anymore, just really wanting to get it over with. I'll be 25 weeks tomorrow! I can't wait till we start baby shopping, hubby said at 28 weeks, Johnathan has been receiving so many gifts already too, its so nice. Ok the Procardia is kicking in, did Procardia make yall drowsy? It makes me kind of drowsy sometimes, then there are nights when I can't sleep from all the flushing.

I went into my appointment today with hubby only to be told the OB wasn't there today, so I only got my P17 shot. Hubby hurried home so he could go with us because we want to talk to the doctor about having a VBAC delivery, its so nice that he wants to ask questions too. I think I want to give it a try even though I'm scared. The shot wasn't that bad.

Maria~ I am in Central NY.. I think it's great that your husband wants to ask questions! Mine never said anything! How's everything going? Jackie~ I had to give in and buy another crib tent.. I tried putting Tiffany in the toddler bed in the nursery, but she kept getting out of bed and climbing into Marc's crib and sitting on him. So I tried putting her in Ashley's room (she's 12) and she woke up in the middle of the night and painted the carpet with nail polish So now she's back in the crib, with the crib tent in the nursery, and bought anotehr crib tent for Peter.. Now everyone's safe.. Maybe we'll try again in another month or two
Lorena~ The crying isn't too bad now.. the first few months after the boys came home from the hospital were kind of hard, but now that they mostly sleep through the night, it's much easier.. The thing that I don't like is that with 3 of them, it's alwats 2 on 1, someone is always getting picked on by the other 2.. but I love watching them interact and grow together when they are all playing nicely

Hi ladies!
Hope you all are doing well, yall must be really busy with the kiddos now that school is almost out. We went to Chris' class picnic today, it was pretty fun and he had a blast. I can't believe my boy is going to Kindergarten next year, he's getting so big.
I'm feeling a bit down though, after the picnic we went back to the classroom cause it was so hot outside. Chris is in a special ed classroom with only 7 kids. Most of them have speech issues. There's a boy in particular, he was also in Chris' class last year so I've seen his parents in all the parties, etc. He has speech issues and today he threw a really bad tantrum, I've never seen a kid act like that before. It was really bad, the assistant took him to time out after he misbehaved and he went all out, he started throwing things and screaming at the top of his lungs, she could not control him. I saw the teacher write down the time it started and then again the time it stopped. His mom didn't do nothing I guess cause he would listen more to the teacher and the assistant. About 10 minutes later it happened again, at that time the assistant principle who is a really tall man was in the room, he had to carry him out because the teacher said he was starting to have a seizure. I felt so helpless with my big belly and all and then Chris got scared so he kept holding on to me. Gosh, I felt so bad. His mom started crying and she told her husband she didn't know what to do anymore. I've just never seen that happen to a little boy before. After we left I didn't see him again, I really hope he's okay.
