Maria~ Maybe they're talking about bacteria issues for the no public pools and lakes thing??? I have no idea, but I'm guessing for the sake of the conversation. I would be seriously be disappointed if I couldn't cool off in a pool during the summer---especially in GA!! Kristyn~ I hear ya on working your butt off and nothing getting accomplished. My house is prime example right now too. I tell ya...it's a mess! I have my own child and a co-worker's son while she's attending a funeral. These two are great together, but Ansley is so spastic with excitment of having someone to play with that I'm going to have to string her up!! Her voice gets louder and louder and she has no idea that it's happening. The poor dog isn't going to have a voice later because he's so excited that he can't stop barking at them!! I just keep repeating....it's Friday and I can sleep in tomorrow!!

Maria: My OB also told me to be careful with public pools and baths.... but in my country is a precaution we took, since water and cleaning is not so good.... I donīt think it would apply in US..... And I had forbidden the hot tub baths, since I have irritable uterus and even that make me have contractions.... Kristyn: Me too being, busy and when I look around many things still has to be done....I think my DH thinks I just lay all day to watch tv..... tough I keep doing my To-do-lists I am crazy with them..... right now I was doing one for the things I have to take to the beach this long WE...... Tracy: Glad the kids get along...... S. being only son tends to fight little too much with guests, I have to be like a referee (Spelling??? ) Even when the parents of the kid are with us, which is embarrasing..... So we are in the Holy /Easter week, so kids have 9 days of vacation..... S. is surely enjoying his... this morning a neighbor set a pool in his front lawn, bad idea...... all kids were ther, and wet all his cartport.... but S. had a blast..... now he is playing wii at a neighbor house...... and miss V is watching princess cartoon...... oh boy this girl discovered the princess cartoon, I think is her 1,000 time she saw it...... good day everyone. Lorena- Chris watches the same DVDs like a hundred times too. Its crazy, I spend all this money buying the new cartoon movies I like and he doesn't seem interested in them so I think I'll stop, because he sticks to the old movies instead. I understand what you mean about the pools in our countries. Do you ever go to Mexico?
Tracy- I know, it gets sooo hot! It was very hot out today, and I wore a long sleeve blouse too, ugh! I hope I can at least put my feet in the pool.
I've been procrastinating big time lately. I've finally managed to start doing laundry, I have like a month worth of laundry and it seems that when I finish I have a whole bunch more to wash! I need to stop buying clothes, thats my problem. I really can't help myself though, I always run into great deals and can't resist. =/

Maria~ It is hard to pass up a good deal!! Even I don't mind shopping then.... As for watching the same thing multiple times....We have DVR on our Directv and Ansley records the shows that she likes since we're rarely at home. I swear we've watched Disney's movie, Lemonade Mouth, a million times since it first came on on Friday night!!! I've memorized it myself!!! Lorena~ I wish I got 9 days out of school for Easter..... We're off on Friday and were suppose to have Monday and Tuesday too, but the snow days from January took those. I work on Monday and the kids return on Tuesday. Guess one day off is better than none!!

Hey ladies,
Feeling kind of down lately. I'm trying not to tell my parents because I know my mom is going to freak out. Anyways, I went to the doctor on Thursday, pre-term labor has started and I'm now on Procardia and will be starting P17 shots next week. Also my cervix is very irritable so my cerclages might be coming out soon. I knew this was coming because for the last three days I've been feeling a little achy down there and the feeling is all too fimiliar. The doctor said to take it kind of easy still, I stopped working about two months ago and might be taking online classes from now on. I'm just a wreck right now, I can't imagine going through another loss. I'm terrified to have a preemie. I was told if Procardia doesn't work to head to the hospital but its doing the trick for now. Chris is at my parents and hubby wants to go out to dinner tonight to ease my mind. Have any of yall taken P17 shots? Are they painful? Side effects? I have two appointments on Tuesday.

Hey Maria,
I took 17P with Matt. I had no side effects other than a little soreness at the injection site, and that was really only one time when the nurse injected it to quickly. I didn't think they hurt that bad... no worse than a flu shot. I think they helped me a LOT because I carried Matt full term with no cerclage (removed at 35.5 weeks) for 3 weeks which shouldn't have been possible if I truly had IC. So I think the shots are what got me full term. And the fact they gave you procardia is good, a lot of women have great success with that.
Take it easy and know that we are here whenever you need us. And my advice? tell your mom. She might freak, but it will be better than hiding it from her. Moms can tell when something is wrong and it will just cause you more stress to try to pretend you aren't scared. And if something were to happen you might need her help.
Keeping my fingers crossed that things settle down and you are doing better soon!
Hugs,
Jackie

Maria: Huge hugs coming your way! I'm so sorry that preterm labor has started up with you, but so glad that procardia is doing the trick. Procardia only worked for me for a few days but then they switched me to terbutaline and that really did the trick. I took 17P as well, and no real side effects from it other than pain at the injection site and it sometimes did get a little itchy. It helped me to get Elim to full term and I hope it does the same for you and your little one! Hoping that things settle down for the long haul for you!

Hey ladies, Feeling kind of down lately. I'm trying not to tell my parents because I know my mom is...
Maria, I'm sorry this is happening! You deserve an easy uneventful pregnancy. I wanted to share my last pregnancy with you a bit to hopefully help you in some way. With Ian I started contracting frequently at 23 wweeks and landed in the hospital. This is when they started the Procardia...it worked wonders! In fact, once I started the Procardia my cervix was super long! I had virtually no contractions I could feel...I took 10 mg every 6 hours. I didn't start 17P until 30 weeks, but I begged for it from the beginning...by 30 weeks the Procardia was still doing an amazing job, but I started to feel some irritability again, so I started those. Again, instant relief! I could not believe how amazing it was for me. I would definitely ask for it. It barely hurt going in (the slower the better and for it to be warm first). I had a bit of a reaction at first (knot/lump at site) and once I felt like I was going to throw up for a few hours, but nothing major at all! Worth it in every way! I also ended up on Procardia every 4 hours. I hope this helps in some way! Know you are not alone and feel free to email me Hugs!!!

Maria~ I'm sorry to hear that this little boy is getting stirred up a bit already. I don't have experience with 17p shots, but I have with Procardia and had GREAT success!! Nothing else worked at all!! I hope that things will settle down soon and that you can ease your mind a bit.
I also agree with Jackie in telling your mom. It's okay to give it until you get to the dr. and get the facts, but trying to hide it will be super stressful and you'd hate for her to hear it from someone else.
Hugs to you!!!

Maria,
I'm sorry you are going through this.. I did the 17P shots with my twins.. I got a big lump at the injection site (my butt) for just about a week, (time for the next one, oh joy ) but other than that, there weren't many side effects.. They made it to 26+3.. ~anyone TTC in central NY, our local reproductive endochronologist is giving away 6 free IVF cycles.. Here's the link...

Thank you all so much. I'm now at the hospital, I was admitted yesterday with pre-term labor, the Procardia was not doing the trick. I also have a severe bladder infection which is also causing lots of pain, I'm now on antibiotics for that. I'm hoping I get to go home soon. Please keep me and my little boy in your prayers. Thanks you.

Thanks yall! I just had an ultrasound, my cervix is looking good. When we arrived on Sunday, the first doctor that checked me said I was 50% effaced, scared the crap out of my and made my blood pressure drop. But thank God everything is ok with my baby. He's lookng good in growth and plente of fluid and I did have a few contraction last night but I had been given a stool softner and was soooo crampy, they went away now. I was just given some Phenegran and I'm sleepy now. Just waiting for doctors orders on wether I can go home or not. I really hope I can go home, I miss my boys so much. Chris came to see me Sunday and yesterday and he kept saying of the baby was hurting me and that if I stayed here I would have to walk home cause he was taking the car with his dad, he's too cute.
Funny story- My mom loves taking Chris to church, I don't know why because he misbehaves so badly. Anyways, my dad went with them on Sunday and Chris kept kicking and misbehaving so my dad told him, "You need to behave because Jesus is looking at you" and pointed to the cross. Chris answers, "he's not looking at me, he's looking down". Kids say the funniest things.

Thank you all for the well wishes. I was discharged from the hospital today. It feels so good to be home. One of my doctors said we escaped the bullet this time, and that he didn't know how much longer my cervix will hold on. I'm now on Indocin, Procardia, and had my first P17 shot yesterday. I'm 23 weeks now and hoping and praying that I get to 30, thats my first goal. I'm gonna rest now, the meds make me drowsy. Maria

Maria: So glad that you were stable enough to go home! If I've learned anything, it's that doctors don't know everything! Two doctors told me I wouldn't get pregnant that cycle, yet here is Elim. When I was admitted at 28/9 weeks my OB told me that she thought I would make it to "maybe" 34 weeks before delivering yet I got to 38. Another doctor told me I probably wouldn't make it to full term when I was admitted at 32 weeks but I did! So hold onto the hope that your cervix will hold nice and strong to deliver a healthy and full term little one! Keeping you close in my thoughts and prayers!

Thank you all, thanks for keeping my little bun and me in your prayers.
Stacy- You're right, some doctors just talk and don't really know what they're talking about, they can't predict the future. I'm really hoping to get far enough so my boy doesn't have to go to the NICU. Just the thought of that scares me. I was moved to the high risk perinatal unit shortly after we arrived and just the thought of being there freaked me out. Thank you for your prayers. I know how much you went through also to make sure lttle Elim made here on time, he's just so darn cute!
I have two appointments on Tuesday and my 2nd P17 shot, my first one hurt but it doesn't matter as long as it helps me carry my boy a little longer. I'm taking it easy at home, hubby and Chris have been so good to me, also my parents, my mom took Chris today, he left pretty happy.

Yes the 17 P shots hurt, but the Dr. in our NICU said they actually can help the babies grow better too, since the uterus is not irritated, the placenta is able to better pass the nutrients, ect. to the baby.. Our NEO said our twins were actually about a pound bigger than they should have been when they were born at 26+3, and she attributed it to the 17P..
Ok~ Question for all.... When do you put multiples in toddler beds?? I have 2 of 3 who can now climb out of their cribs! I'm so afraid that someone's going to get hurt, either climbing out of bed, or climbing into bed with someone else.. yet, at the same time I'm terrified to take that step into toddler beds... We currently have Tiffany with a crib tent, and Peter and Marc just in cribs.. Should I buy another crib tent? or two? or invest in 3 toddler beds? ~Sarah~

Sarah~ Your boys were both around 3 lbs. right?? My girls were born at 27 weeks and they were 1lb. 4 oz. and 2lbs. 2oz. so they were a bit bigger..... As for the bed question....I guess it would depend on how much you trust them to be able to get out of the bed on their own... If you don't think they'll leave their beds, they you could go ahead with a bed for them, but if you think they'll terrorize the house all night---maybe a crib tent would work better. Maria~ How are you???
