Jac - you always have the BEST ideas! Messy - but great!
The chart you gave Leighton for her "money" lesson was wonderful, and really helped her figure out the difference between pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters.
Sadly...it would all work much easier if I had patience.

Jac you always have such wonderful ideas for how to teach these little ones on their level. I love these and am so excited about trying them out with Domonique. We've done the shaving cream thing but only for sensory issues. I never even considered it for learning to write. Wonderful! She wil LOVE it!

I also have an idea to share. Purely conceived through my own selfish desires to get this girl to tickle my back. I get her to write letters or words on my back and then I have to guess what it is. She loves it and no big surprise that I love it I love mesome back rubs!
See...it's a total win-win situation! lol

Miss ya girl!

Jac
My kids loved water painting outside in the summer. I just want to throw in a little warning about the shaving cream. I did this to clean desks with my students one year and had a horrible asthma attack because of the smell. I don't know if it was just too much shaving cream, a particular brand(don't remember what I used), or just any shaving cream. But we might want to watch it carefully with kids with breathing issues.
Have fun writing. I love the letters on the peanut butter!

I already posted in the cafe that I loved this blog, but here I am in person.

We also practice with bottles of honey or syrup on pancakes.

Way to use that degree Jac!!! Those are great ideas and many of which I used in my kindergarten classroom when I taught the wee people!

Awesome advice and ideas, Jac. Ryley's class used the shaving cream on their desks last year to practice spelling words. They always got a HUGE kick out of it and it was so much fun to watch!!

hugs,
Donna
