    Melanie,
I am so sorry to hear that you lost your baby. I know it must be very hard for you. I have a 24 weeker. she was born 24 weeks to the day and they did not think she would make it either. Her heart stopped at one point. If you ever need someone to talk to please feel free to email me. I am from Bellevue. I had my daughter at the Cleveland CLinic NICU. I know a lot of nurses that worked at Metro and CCF. I bet they took care of both our babies. Best of luck to you . My prayers are with you.

    Re: Ohio

    Courtney,

Thank you for your kind words, your encouragement really means alot to me. Where exactly is Bellevue? I have heard of it before. Did the doctors say why you went into labor so early? If you want to talk through e-mail that is fine. You can e-mail me or we can exchange conversations through here.

    Melanie,
Sorry i have not checked the posts in a while. Bellevue is between Norwalk and Fremont. It is also between Cleveland and Toledo.

I went into labor early because i had an imcompent cervix. I was one centimeter dilated at 22 weeks they did a cerclage and it only held for about 10 days. I delivered Emily at 24 weeks. Feel free to email me anytime cbrogers5454@yahoo.com. I would love to hear from you.

Well, I'm actually from Cleveland but live south/east of it now, near Kent. Any locals here? I have a 26 weeker that is almost 7/4 months old and doing great. We were in Fairview Hospital. A most phenominal NICU!

Mom to Jimmy (26 weeker born Mother's Day 2005)

    Toledo Mom

Hi, I had my son (Jimmy) at The Toledo Hospital on Mother's Day (May 8, 2005). He has been home for 3 weeks now. He is doing amazingly well for a 26 weeker. We are on oxygen for feedings, but that is really about it. In the early days, we made it through a Grade 2 IVH, PDA ligation surgery, and a full month on the vent. Now our big concern is getting him to gain weight. He will undergo surgery for craniosynostosis (where the soft spot closes too soon) next month. We managed to make it through our 86 day NICU stay with NO infections - absolutely amazing since I delivered after 3 weeks of hospital bedrest for chorioamnionitis (an infection in the amniotic sac).

I would love to meet other mom's with extremely premature infants. My husband is from the Sandusky area (Huron/Berlin Heights). I am from metro-Detroit. We currently live in south Toledo.

    See Jimmy's website for more:

    Anyone in the Cincinnati-Dayton area?

    Hi. I'm new here.

I was just wondering if there's anyone in the Cincinnati-Dayton area. I live in Middletown. I moved here from Texas. I've been in the area 5 1/2 years.

I have a 3 1/2 year old little boy. He was born full-term, but we had some complications with the birth. We're currently in the process of having him tested for Autism.

I was wondering if they still have the walks, and if there's one anywhere in the area.

    Hi!!!
I am the mother of a (FT) 3 year old little boy and a 19 month old (29 weeker) little girl. Nia spent 4 months at Cincinnati's Children's Hospital. This is a great website to find people with a lot of kindness and understanding. I did a walk last year in Chicago but I know they had one here.

    new to ohio

My son Ethan was born on April 22, 05 at 27wks in Newport News, VA. We had a great experience for the most part at the hospital he was in. We moved to the North Canton area in July. My parents are here, and I lived in New Phila 6yrs ago. It's nice to be "home." Ethan's doing well, never had to be on oxygen or heart monitor. He does have stage 2 ROP in both of his eyes and goes to Akron Children's every 2 weeks for checkups. The staff there are really great too. I'd love to meet other moms and former premies in the area. Feel free to email me. I work part time, but am home most of the time.

    Dana

Stephanie- I hope you see this! We miss seeing you guys too! Sometimes I think about our NICU friends and wonder how they're doing, but I can only picture Trenton and Simon as the tiny little guys they were when you guys went home. Clara is doing absolutely wonderful! She's almost 12 pounds now and will be 8 months old a week from today.
I'm sending you guys a card with our contact info in it. I hope I still have the right address. And when we were at follow up clinic last month and made our next appointment I saw that Trenton was scheduled right after Clara so hopefully we'll see you there!
If you get this email me some pics of Trenton.

I live in Canton. I have a 26 weeker- a little girl who is 8 months old now. I'm including my email. There's a small group of us preemie parents who were all in the NICU together and all of the babies were born 25-29 weeks gestation. We're trying to plan a get together so maybe you could join in!
