Northside
I am a member of Parents Partnered for Preemies at Northside Hospital. Our hospital, in my opinion, is one of the best hospitals for patient support while in and after returning home. I bet you will find people with horror stories and great stories of all hospitals however, all in all the experience and numbers that Northside has every day makes me feel good to be there.
3 times a year we have family reunion's for our families. If you are interested in attending please e-mail me for details!

I was wondering if anyone was planning on attending the Annual Walk to Remember? It is hosted by the Perinatal Loss Committee of Northside Hospital.
This will be our first year going. It sounds like a great way to remember our little angels.

Re: Georgia
Hey Robin~
I didn't know about it, but I'm 2 hours from Northside anyway so I don't think we'll make it. I hope that others will be participating and if you go, please take a few steps for my sweet girls Taylor and Ansley.

Kennestone
I just saw the Georgia forum... We have two babies at Kennestone right now. I have to say that I am very impressed with most of the nurses and the doctors there! Dr. Marino often will get on the phone with me to explain how everything is going, and Dr. Casanova is great at sitting in the boy's room for a while to make sure we're understanding all the ins and outs of their treatment. I saw someone mention Lynn... She is great! Such a wonderful, happy personality! She was the nurse that allowed my wife to hold one of her babies for the first time, so she'll always be very special to us.
I'll have to make sure to check back here on occasion...

Kennestone
JT was at Kennestone for 10 weeks from November 10 until Jan 20th back in 2005. You bring back a bunch of memories of the doctors and nurses there. Casanova and Marino were there always when we wanted to know anything. And Lynn was always a smiling face. Is there a nurse there named Melissa? She used to work the night shift a lot and had a baby in the NICU for a while. We go back every year and give a gift on JtT's birthday, we didn't this year because he was sick, but as soon as we get the chance we are going up there.

Re: hi
Very cool!! I loved the name because it was different from most others and I had never had a student by that name... . We only knew one other at the time and then a friend of my sister's called about a year after our Ansley was born to see if "we minded" if she named her little girl Ansley. She's the only one in her class!! Tracy

We need help in Georgia.
I have a 27 weeker who is now 20 months old. We are having some concerns about her cognitive abilities and we feel like there is something not quit right. I have 2 other children that were also somewhat premature (35 weeker and 33 weeker) that did fine and have had no problems. We worked with Babies Can't Wait for about 7 months on her physical therepy and she did fine. She is very much smaller than her peers and know that that can come with the territory but we don't know where to turn about the other problems we are having. If you have any advice or any contact info you can share PLEASE DO! Thank you!

Re: We need help in Georgia.
First of all---WHAT A CUTIE!! I love those big blue eyes!! I don't have much advice except to talk to her ped about your concerns and see what he/she suggests. What types of things is she not doing?? I wish I could do more to help, but basically our therapists dismissed our daughter and just said that if there were areas of concern that we could contact them for more services. Good luck to you... I hope to hear more about these awesome kids soon. Tracy
