Pray for our Angel

khamiasmommy - 05:52pm Oct 3, 2011 EST

Hi ! My name is Alexis, on September 16, 2011 I gave birth to my daughter Khamia Bri-ele. She was 1 pound and 5 ounces. She was 3 months and 1 week early. She recently was diagnosed with holes in her intestine and from that occurred a blood infection. She also has PDA which is a hole in her heart and a Grade: 4 brain bleed, as of right now she's pulling through and is doing great. With the ventilator helping her breath she's holding her on. But I'm asking you all to pray for her because with her being so small anything can happen and it's a blessing that at 2 weeks and 3 days old to be here. Doctors said she wouldn't make it, but God put Khamia here for a reason and she's showing doctors that she's strong. Keep her in your prayers. Thank You.

I love my kids!

Alexis, Congratulations on Khamia's arrival!! Welcome to Share. This is the place to come!

First, it is amazing that Khamia is 2wks and 3days old! We have a few things in common with our children. My daughter was born in September. She also was over 3 months early.(26wks gestation) She had a pda that closed on it's own around wk 3. She was 1lb, 1oz when born. Guess what? She's 2 years old now! No physical or developmental drawbacks that we know of, right now.

I'm a firm believer God will not give us more than we can handle. He puts people in our lives for a reason. He put Khamia in your life for a reason. I will pray for you and her, her doctor's/nurses and that she is in no pain. (The 4 things I prayed for every day Tori was in the NICU)

Love and Light,
Liz

Welcome to Share and congratulations on your little girl, Khamia. My daughter suffered a grade 3 bleed, I know the diagnosis is tough...Just know there are many children here with similar diagnosis doing well.

Take things one day at a time, it may sound like a cliché but the NICU is like being on a roller coaster, with ups and downs.

I will keep you and your little girl in my prayers. Hoping Khamia continues to progress and is home soon.

You and your daughter are in my prayers. She is a miracle and will defy the odds. I was told many negative things about my son when he was born. He is now a healthy 4 year old, 40 lb big boy. (Born at 27 weeks 1lb 12 oz). She will be better than okay.

God Bless!

Dayna
