3 YRS OLD AND ONTO PRESCHOOL?

May 06, 2013 12:35pm (EST)

Thanks you everyone for you warm birthday wishes for Dawxen. He had a great birthday. He was super happy when he saw his cake & opening his present. =) It was a simple, but wonderful celebration. =) He's growing up so fast... his sentences are getting clearer and he has started to speak in full sentences pretty well. We went to his 3 yr well check up. He's greater than the 95 percentile for his height & at the 93 percentile for his weight. My, my, my, is he growing. And then his Dr. asked about preschool next year. I'm not sure how well he'll do in preschool, with other people around and no mommy. I'm kinda skeptical about the whole schooling thing still. And he'd have to take a bus to and from school, since my hubby works during the day.... mmm.... I don't know how he'll feel and do without me there since we don't get out much and he cries often when he sees new people.... takes him awhile to warm up. Guess I have lots of thinking and researching to do.

3 YRS AGO TODAY

Apr 23, 2013 10:30am (EST)

3 yrs ago today, God blessed us with a wonderful little miracle. After 4 days in labor & on bedrest at the hospital, he finally made his entry into this world. Although he came 3 months earlier than expected, he was here, healthy & a burst of joyful tears. Weighing 1 lb 13.5 oz, he was a blessing. Such a tiny little baby but a loud happy cry. I will never forget the day you were born. I am thankful God gave us you. I am thankful everyday that you were born and that you are with us everyday, striving and thriving in every way. I am thankful that even though you needed a few blood transfusions, numerous PICC lines, medications, that the only thing big was a PDA ligation. I am thankful for your life everyday. Mama loves you so much and I wouldn't trade you for the world. You are a wonderful son and an awesome big brother to Everett!! Thank you for being my son, for teaching me to be a mother I knew I would be one day, for fighting your fight hard & strong, for continuing to live on with your Daddy & I, for being the best friend & big brother that your brother has. Thank you Bubba for everything!! Most importantly, Thank You God for providing for us, for giving us the strength to be parents and bring this little, now big boy into this world and for blessing him to become a big brother!! Dawxen, you have been a wonderful, joyous, loving, silly little boy. May you continue to learn everyday and strive for more everyday in life. You have come such a long way and you have done so well!! ABC's, check. Counting 1-20, check. Some basic shapes, check. Potty trained, check. Big brother, check. These are just a few things that you have checked off the list, you have many more to be checked off. Mommy & Daddy & brother will always be by your side! =) Happy 3rd birthday Dawxen Xeng Neal!! We love you always & forever!!

POTTY UPDATE

Mar 18, 2013 09:56am (EST)

so it's been about a week & oh my!!! it's been one heck of a journey. it started off super rocky, tantrums, and all. by the 3rd day, it was a breeze, Dawxen didn't mind the going to the potty every 10-15 minutes, he was willing without tantrums. he did however have 3 poop accidents last week... they were not pretty either. otherwise, yesterday, i caught him just in time as he was telling me "no, mommy..." brushing me off so he can go poop in his undies... i ran like the wind upstairs & put him on the toilet... and sure enough, he pooped for the first time in the toilet!! i was so proud of him... we were both so proud of him. =) he's been doing so well with the peeing, still during nap time, i put a diaper on him just in case, i know, still... but he even then does well too, he'll ask to go "poos=pee" in the bathroom. he has started to go poos every so often & pees every time he goes to the bathroom too. A++ for him.

Everett follows us every time to the bathroom too & what do you know... he's slowly getting trained too... his thing though, is that he'll poop in the toilet. last week, he pooped 3 times once every night, 3 nights in a row. it was awesome... a good feeling that since he's seeing his big brother potty train, he wants to do it too, even it means he just gets to sit on the toilet. =) he's getting the hang of it too. it's going to be a breeze for him, once i get dawxen down on the complete potty-ing in the toilet. =)

so yesterday the hubs finally cut off the boys' hair. they are still sad about having no more hair. all their beautiful hair... gone, until next time. =)

POTTY TRAINING TIME

Mar 12, 2013 10:59am (EST)

All i gotta say is.... POTTY TRAINING IS EXHAUSTING!!!! There is nothing more frustrating. Whew!! But so far it's going okay. I bought him CARS underwear and I started the potty training Sunday night. He's peed a few times in them. Sunday night, I think he peed twice in his undies. Monday morning he peed twice in his undies & then twice in the toilet. YAY!! I was super happy and proud of him.... he got a treat for peeing in the toilet each time. Then nap time I put a diaper on him, didn't pee in it until he woke up from his nap. And back into his undies he went. As soon as Daddy came home from work, he decided to pee in his undies. Diaper for bedtime... he didn't pee in his diaper last night... not bad. This morning I put him right into his undies & we tried peeing in the toilet again. I try to take him every 10-15 minutes.... he still is throwing tantrums bout not wanting to pee in the toilet but we get there eventually. So far this morning, he's peed once in the toilet. YAY!!!

As frustrating as it can get, I have to keep it up and keep going with it. He's almost 3 and diapers are expensive, especially since Everett is still in diapers too... diapers aren't cheap!!! So once I get Dawxen in perfect training mode... it's go time!! I'm still waiting to see if he'll have to go poop while on the toilet as well... we haven't gotten to the poop/toilet phase yet. I'm hoping it'll go pretty smooth. Hopefully in a few weeks time, he'll completely get the hang of peeing & pooping in the bathroom cause Everett is next in training. =)

PIC UPDATES FOR THE LADIES.

Feb 21, 2013 10:03am (EST)

I always take a ton of pics of the boys since they're growing so fast... they for the most part love taking pics too. They're always ready to "cheese." Every now and then I can't get Dawxen to take a pic with me but eventually, if I let him press the button. =) Everett is the one who is more willing to. I have so many pics that eventually I will go & buy a huge photo album and make their own album of pics for when they are old enough they can have their own pics & memories. Dawxen alone from being in the NICU has about a million pics. LOL. Okay, maybe not that much, but a good thousand or so. =) What can I say, I love my boys & I don't want to miss a thing.

I have a facebook, if any one of you wants to see more pics of the boys. Just look me up "Shoua Neal"

THERE I WENT... MIA AGAIN!!

Feb 17, 2013 02:17pm (EST)

Gosh, new year & 2 months in already!! Busy mom to these 2 boys have really made me forget about Share & the fact that it loads so slow. =( But I made it on here today. =) Anywho, it's been a great new year so far. =) Not much change, but there's yet to come. Everyone's doing well also.... the boys are growing like crazy!!!

Dawxen will be 3 in about 2 months!! CRAZY!!! I KNOW!! Went from being a 25 wk-er to an almost 3 year old!! Whew, have I been blessed or what. He loves jumping on everything & I mean EVERYTHING... especially the couches & boy does he get in trouble for that. LOL. He's loves to talk... this boy can talk your ears off, must say, he gets it from his dad.... though he's not formulating complete sentences yet, he's a talker. But everything he says, little brother is right there copying every word. He's growing like crazy too!!! He's half my size already, that's how tall he's getting. He can hold the rail himself now as he goes up & down the stairs. He's still refusing to potty train though... so I have been okay with it... some days we push him to but all we get out of him is crying & tempers... so I guess we will revisit when 3 yrs of age comes around & closer to going to school....

Everett will be 19 months next week. He's growing as well... his 18 months checkup at the end of last month, 95% in height & 65% in weight... He's getting tall!!! Catching up with Dawxen I must say... the boys will be taller than me... that I'm sure of. LOL. Even though he's in the 65% range for weight, I can say, Everett is my little porker, he eats everything.... just always wants to eat. LOL. I guess it's a good thing, since big brother is still just as picky. He loves to bug his brother as well... he won't let Dawxen play in peace, especially when it comes to playing & watching Thomas the train & Percy go round & round the the tracks... Everett will watch & then out of nowhere, picks up the tracks until the break & Dawxen will scream for me.... "Mommy, Mommy.... Baby (he calls Everett baby) crash." I swear, they have the "LOVE/HATE" sibling relationship. LOL. Everett's a talker too... "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy" until he gets whatever that he needs that can't get or just wants me to pick him up.

The boys, my little boys... they're growing so fast... they bug each other, they get mad at each other... sometimes they share, sometimes they don't, but no matter what, at the end of the day, they are laughing with each other & they know that they love each other. I don't know what they would do if they didn't have each other... every day they are together... they don't always do the same things but for the most part they do... little brother following in big brother's footsteps, watching his every move. They are my sunshine to a stressful & frustrating day. They are ones who take up most of my heart, my love. No matter how rough my days are with them, gosh, I wouldn't trade it or them for the world. My life wouldn't be complete without them... My life IS complete because I have that.

IT'S APRIL AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!!!!!!

Apr 09, 2012 07:55pm (EST)

Thank you ladies for all your sweet comments. =)

I'm excited to say... I have started my countdown to DAWXEN'S 2nd birthday!!! I can't believe he'll be 2 in just 2 weeks!!! The years sure flew by! I am so proud to say that he's such a wonderful, loving, energetic little boy!! As crazy as he may drive me, I love him so much!!!! He makes my life so great, & his brother as well. We've got so much to work on still but in a matter of time, he'll be talking, using the potty & outta diapers. I so excited & my hubby & I are awaiting the day he decides to finally talk and not just say the word "yeah." I'm not doing a big birthday bash for him though cause it's just the 4 of us here, no family, no friends.... something very special & low low key. But I am making a special cake for him.... I just hope it will turn out how I imagine it to be. Last year since we were in MN with both families, I did a DINOSAUR theme party for him... & all the kids loved the little toy dinosaurs. And Dawxen's never had cake/cupcakes. His Dr. said he has an allergy to eggs & peanuts/all nuts, so we've never really tried eggs.... I mean though he's had donuts, small amount... flu shots... he's never broke out from it. So since he's turning 2 this year, I'm gonna ask his Dr. here to run another allergy test. I know he's gonna love his cake I make him & all his gifts... =)

2 YEARS OVERDUE!!

Feb 23, 2012 03:50pm (EST)

hello friends... gosh, it's been 2 years... just about. goodness gracious! sorry i haven't been here... pretty much been MIA!! so much as happened in the last 2 years... i'll break it down for yalls. hmm... where to start, lets see...

so Raphael got stationed in Connecticut, so this has been home for us. when we got here December 2010, we found out we were pregnant again... it was a miracle, a blessing... that of course wasn't planned. =) so we decided that since i was pregnant and Raphael would be in school for the next year, Dawxen & i would move back home to Minnesota. that's exactly what we did middle of February, packed everything up in a PODS storage & moved out of housing & my hubby moved into a studio apartment. Dawxen & I flew to Wisconsin to stay with my sisters for bout a week and then the took us up to Minnesota. For the next 10 months, we lived with my other sister & her family (her hubby & their 3 kids). It was great, my hubby & I appreciate them and love them so much for letting Dawxen & I stay with them. I must admit, it got crazy with 4 kids in one household, but what can I say... I am 1 of 12 kids. LOL. =D Anyways, while we lived in MN, and the hubby was in school, he was only able to come home to visit twice... they had such a crazy tough school schedule. We moved back to CT 2 days before Christmas last year & been back for 2 months... being back together is still getting some used too.... I'm not gonna lie, it's hard work.

July came.... and we welcomed another BOY, EVERETT KENG NEAL. He was born on the 26th weighing in @ 6 lbs 12 oz & 20 in long @ 38 wks & 2 days old. =) So it's now me & my boys... all 3 of them. =) We are so blessed to have him here with us.... it took some getting used to. Raphael wasn't able to be at the birth, but he was on the phone through the whole birth. That was the next most special thing. =) With Dawxen, I couldn't hold him right away, Raphael couldn't cut the cord, and he didn't get to come home with us right away. I got to hold Everett right away as my Dr. put him on my chest, he was able to come home with me the very next day, though Raphael couldn't be there for the birth, my sister was with me through it all, proud Auntie cut the cord. I wouldn't trade my 2 boys for anything in the world... they're the most precious gifts in life.

Dawxen today is 22 months old... in just 2 months, he'll officially be 2 years old. He's loves to walk/run everywhere, all over the house... he's so energetic. He's favorite show is SUPER WHY! He's in the ELMO phase everything, he loves Elmo. He also loves to write, draw, color, play with cars, and so much more... always so curious too. Loves to drink everything out of a sippy cup, but milk... still trying to get him off the baba, but man, is it hard. He refuses to drink milk in a cup/sippy cup. He knows it's not his baba. =( He's partial potty trained, sometimes we make it to the potty for a poo poo and there are others when we don't. Still working on that too. He's a great big brother, he loves his brother very much. He always gives Everett kisses... it's the sweetest thing & he's such great help. He's helps get diapers & wipes when I ask him to help, he gives Everett toys to play with, they're so great together. Dawxen's still getting used to playing nicely with Everett though, hasn't really realized that Everett is still young.

Everett, he will be 7 months next Sunday.... He's learned how to crawl (last week) so he's everywhere!!! He loves to follow Dawxen around the house.... it's crazy... one walking/running and the other is crawling right behind!!! Everett is working on baby foods... it's a love/hate thing. LOL. He's just the cutest though. He has a thing for paper though.... we'll catch him playing with paper and we take it from him, and he bursts into tears like it's the end of the world. He gets super duper happy when he sees big brother... He loves his big brother even when he's rough with him. =)

I'm very very blessed to have such 2 handsome boys! They're everything to me and I love them both so much. I'm so proud to be their MAMA!! So I guess this is a pretty good update, a nutshell of the past 2 yrs.

IT'S BEEN AWHILE, HERE'S AN UPDATE.

Dec 30, 2010 07:45pm (EST)

gosh, i've been gone for a long time. sorry friends. there have been so much going on. we transferred and left florida... now we're in connecticut. when we left florida though we took at trip back home first and man, it was so well worth the visit. i missed my family so much and dawxen got to meet all his aunties and uncles and both his grandmas. everyone loved him of course. we spent 2 weeks home and then we left for connecticut. got to connecticut and we confirmed, we are PREGO again. baby #2 on its way. right now we are 8 weeks. i have my 1st ultrasound on the 13th and i getta hear what the doctor wants me to do... if i have to take any proestrogen shots to help with prematurity this time around. so far this pregnancy has been good.... i don't know that we're ready for baby #2, but either way, he or she will be here next summer... and dawxen won't be the only baby no more. i'm more tired this time around and dawxen is getting so big and so heavy that i can't carry him for long. my back pains are a little worse this time around too... i just ache all over. still in the stages of morning sickness here and there. whether we're ready or not, we are excited and blessed that god has blessed us with another child. we just hope and pray for healthy and strong mama and baby. dawxen's gonna be such a great big brother. and by the way, my little man is 8 months now and over 20 lbs. and he's so super talkative and he just started eating baby food and he absolutely loves it... i can't say the same for peas though. he'll eat it, but only for a bit. lol. but he's not able to sit up on his own yet, though he loves sitting up and standing like a big boy if we hold him. my high maintenance baby love. i love him so much though and he's always gonna be my baby.

think that's all the updating that is needed. until next time...

DUE FOR AN UPDATE!!

Sep 26, 2010 04:36pm (EST)

Sorry I've been MIA! I've been sick and a tad busy... not so much the busy, but sick. I am FINALLY feeling better though. So like 2 weeks ago, I had thee worst fever ever that I've ever experienced. Turned out, I had a mild case of mastitis... just on the left side. Gosh it was so bad... made a trip to the ER cause I couldn't go in to my regular DR. and waited forever at the ER... but did get some antibiotics and tylenol.... the antibiotics did its job and of course I just finished the last dose on Friday. Needless to say, the matitis is gone, WHEW!! and I feel much better... now I can get back to taking care of my bubba. It was horrible having matitis, but thank god, I recovered and it wasn't beyond intense.

Now, onto an update on my little chunky monkey. Dawxen is now 5 months & he weighed in at 12lbs. 13oz. on Wednesday!! My chunkster is getting so big!! Goodness, I'm so blessed for his healthy self! He's now wearing some 3 months clothing and 3-6 months clothing... some 3 months are still big for him, as some are small for him too. Craziness.... but he sure is growing out of his clothes and still some more growing to do in others. He smiling more now and more active than ever.... He's still learning and trying to roll over from his tummy to his back... hopefully he'll get it soon.... but he doesn't like tummy time as much anymore. He's sleeping better too now... 5 hours at the most and then he'll get up to eat and fall right back asleep... at night that is... sometimes it's still 3 hours... but 5 at the most. He's still eating good too.... he's back and forth in between breast milk and formula now... he has been for about a month... and he transitions really well in between the two... no problems at all. Pretty soon though, I'm gonna put him completely on formula, just cause it will be easier for me when we are on the move to our next duty station, which we are leaving the beginning of November. And since I won't have access to wash my pumping equipments while on the road, it's best and easier to work with formula for Bubba.... I don't think he'll mind anyways.

So yeah, we're transferring out of Florida at the beginning of November. First we're gonna try to go back home and visit our families before going to our new location.... I can't wait for my family to meet my cutie pie for the 1st time... I know how excited they all are to meet him too... I can't wait.... and then I also will get to meet my new niece... my older sister is due next month, with her 3rd kid... which of course, I mentioned is a GIRL... after 2 boys, it's a girl... so we're excited to meet her... I just can't wait to make the trip home with my to loves.... We miss everyone so much, so my hubby and I are both very excited to go back and see everyone and introduce our handsome to everyone!!!

Here's an recent picture of the one and only handsome Dawxen!!! Enjoy!
