Lorena~ I think I'm coming there if there's another baby in my future!!! Love it that new moms are allowed to be just that....a mom!! Lauren~ I think drunk is probably the proper word....but not in regards to the verb tense!! Glad everyone had a good time! Can you believe that August is coming up this week?? That means we'll need a new cafe' and cafe' name. Any ideas???

|
|
Lauren: Surprisingly, I got it all cut up today! I tied a couple of the knots to keep it together in the right place and will finish tying the rest later! Haha, suuure they weren't drank by you
Tracy: Bar hopping isn't typically my scene either. If we go out to a bar it's typically just to hang out and drink some, but not enough to make it illegal to drive. Ugh, so sorry that they were pressuring you to do something you didn't want to do! We may kid from time to time but definitely no pressure, I'd gladly drink a coke with you! As long as it's not past three or four, don't want it interfering with my sleep!
Lorena: I learned from the best! It's super simple to do, got the mega blanket for Elim trimmed up in less than half an hour. Maybe Lauren and I can do a little tutorial, lol.
Elim's ear checkup tomorrow to make sure the tubes are still looking good and then the dreaded dental appointment for me. New dentist as my old one quit taking my insurance when the military switched our providers.

Come to ShareUnion 2012: It's the BEST weekend ever!!! |
|
|
This week Nathan has Kindergarten warm-up, it's 4 half days of school to get the kids used to being in a structured school environment without the distraction of the older kids around. Putting him on the bus was awful for both of us He was hysterical, so upset. I just want it to be 11 so I can go pick him up. Tracy, we love you the way you are! Who cares that you don't drink, you're still tons of fun. Lorena, that's my kind of day - in PJ's all day! Lauren, you're right. Better to have all your friends over at once that way you only need to clean once. Speaking of cleaning, I'm going to clean to keep myself distracted until it's time to get Nathan.

Laura~ Come on over and clean here....it'll be 11 before you know it!! Stacy~ You go with your mad blanket making skills! Hope both appts go well. Wake up call at 8 a.m.! Roofer!!!!! I knew he was coming soon, but wasn't betting on a Monday morning....neither was Tibbles!!! He's worn himself out with all the barking! Thankfully, it's going to be a tin roof so it'll go a bit faster than ripping shingles off and replacing them. A lot less hammering too!!

Katie - Glad to hear that your washer is fixed:) Love handy men!
In French, if a man is handy, he is called "brico."
Tracy - If we pronounced the word "school" as "shool," then we would all be practically saying the word just as it is pronounced in German. Die Schule (shool - uh) is "school" in German. Sorry about your early morning wake up with roofer person.
Lauren - Yeah, so many other countries have cool things in place for postpardum mommas. In France, someone comes to your house and does your laundry and helps take care of the baby. Kind of like respite (for free).
Stacy - Really neat about making the blanket:)
Ah, crazy times! Last week to get prepped before school starts. A few more things on the honey do list before then. I mean, I guess I could help cut trees, but I'm so afraid that I'll do a whack job on the front yard. Sometimes one can get carried away with those power gardening tools! Interviewed hab people yesterday and I think we've narrowed it down.

Tracy-Ugh on the wake up call! I am getting quite used to this whole sleeping in thing!
Stacy-You are so much more creative than me!
Lindsay-I refuse to anything outside, my skills usually cause the tree to have no branches!
Went to the pool today, now we are hanging at the house watching Olympic volleyball!

Nathan: Aww, big hugs to you both! I hope once he was there he ended up loving it and that tomorrow isn't as traumatic as today.
Tracy: Boo to the early wakeup call!! Is he planning on coming that early every morning? So much for the rest of your sleep in days!
Lindsay: Forgive me if you've already said it, but what does hab stand for?
Elim's appointment went great, his ears look perfect! Still haven't gotten a hearing test yet as their machine keeps screwing up.
As far as my dental appointment......ouch, definitely rather go get my yearly checkup with my ob/gyn. I got totally slammed with cavities. Funny(or not) thing is, this exact same thing happened when I switched from Dr. H several years ago. I see Dr. H for awhile, go to another dentist and bam, I've got 7-8 cavities at my next appointment. Same result, same doctor switched from seven years apart. It appears Dr. H doesn't actually pay attention to my teeth. UGH!!! Two appointments next week and two when I get back from my trip for a total of 9 fillings, most are repairing old fillings and one repairing a cracked tooth. Ugh....my brother and I seem to have inherited the crappy teeth gene.

I can't believe some of you are close to starting school already - that's just crazy! We don't start until Sept 4th. Tracy - when we did our roof earlier this year they showed up at 7:00 am too. Luckily they got it all done in one day though! Laura - Sorry for the bus tears. My kids are upset they DON'T get to ride a bus to school (we live too close). Katie - Think he can fix my dryer? Brian took it apart (somewhat) to look at ours because it will spin but only has sporadic heat. I don't think he tried too hard because it's really old and I think he's tossing around the idea of just buying a new one. Right now I'm playing roulette with it, trying to figure out how many cycles it will take to actually dry the clothes. Seems to be about 3 right now. Ok, the school pronunciation discussion is amusing me. A shul (pronounced "shool" is another name for a Jewish temple. Sorry for the absence, I was up North with my in-laws for a week and thought I'd have better internet access. I'm familied out right now. My husband got some good news from work and we are heading out to celebrate - of course he invited his family..

Donna~ Tell me about it!!! Why do they think that the gymnastic fans want to stay up so late??? That's part of the reason the wake up call this morning was so tough.... Jackie~ Thankfully, he'll be done by lunch tomorrow. It's a tin roof so it's not taking as long a shingles. Stacy~ Great news for Elim!!! Not so great news for you....UGH!!! I'm okay with cleanings, but am not a fan of any other dental work. Lindsay~ I'm at a loss for "hab" too, but hope it all works out for ya! As for the "honey-do" list....good luck! Cracks me up that I now know German because I noticed a spelling coincidence on TV between two words and thought "out loud"!!! You learn something new every day!

Stacy - Yay for Elim's ears. Sorry about your toofers. My 6 year old has to get two filled here tomorrow. Or at least that's what I thought. We got a referral two weeks ago for a peds dentist (smaller bite wings) and they'll only take x-rays tomorrow. What?! I need to get this handled before school starts. Urgh.
No, ask because my head is just filled with way to many acronyms. Hab is short for habilitation. We were FINALLY approved and we'll have yet another psycho, I mean extremely educated individual, coming to our house M-F afternoons to help Mr. T with his hab goals.
Jackie - Hope your trip up North was good. Yay for good work news!
Donna - I stayed up late too. I felt bad for Miss Jordyn. Hating that new rule of only 2 from each country. Your trip sounds like you had a really good time. I read that blog entry, but I don't think I posted. I LOVED it and the number thing too:)

First day of kindergarten went pretty good, but all Nathan will tell me is that there is a door right next to where he hangs his backpack...
I guess the roofer doesn't realize that the olympics were this week, otherwise he certainly would have come later in the day.
That's all I've got. I'm off to go update my blog. Got some not so great news at the Dr today for Nathan, nothing awful just not great.

I just can't imagine working that hard all those years to be booted by your teammate and best friend, and a rule that every team, no matter how skilled, sends two gymnasts. I get the fairness of letting every team compete but can't they grade it or something? Poor Jordyn. Going to watch the US Women's soccer team now. Did I really just type that out loud? How far I've come with this whole soccer thing in five years.

Waiting to hear back how dental trip went. Hoping that they'll just go ahead and fill 'em. D's been obsessing about it and we've been preparing him for it. If it doens't get done today, the practice says they don't have an opening until the end of August.
Hoping for the best here. I want to check this OFF this list.

Hi girls,
just a quick check in -- wanted to share something with all of you.
Is anyone familiar with Project Sweet Peas? It's an organization with a similar focus to MOD/Share ... programs/resources for families who have experienced a NICU stay or pregnancy and infant loss. www.projectsweetpeas.com
Anyway, my sister's boss alerted me to a notice that they were looking for two volunteer writers to help with bi-weekly articles, monthly newsletters, etc. Well, i got an email today that they accepted me as one of the volunteers!
I am so pumped to be able to do more to help families like all of us here -- and of course, stay connected to my boys. On days like today, I get a misty-eyed ... thinking about how my boys have affected my life and where I am today because of them.

Ugh on the dental visits for everyone!!! Not my favorite thing to do by far!!! The roofer came bright and early today and the rain started pouring!!!! He had to leave so I scored a few more hours of sleep!! Due to the much needed rain, he wasn't able to finish today. Guess I'll be up early again tomorrow..... Classroom is looking a bit more put together now. I think I might work a bit more tomorrow and not return again until it's mandatory next week. Donna~ You go girl on the soccer improvements!! Erin: Never heard of them but sounds like a great opportunity!
Lauren: I've heard that the people who have the sit and stands one absolutely love them! Hmmm, maybe that's the ultimate professionalism? Don't have facebook?
Tracy: Woohoo for the sleep in!!
So Elim woke up with a few spots on the back of his thigh, I was thinking bug bites since he was outside in just a diaper yesterday for a bit. So we went about our day, scored 9 shirts for under 30 at Carters, hooray for fabulous sales! Get home and he's got more spots on his other calf, tonight it's on his other thigh, diaper area, and chest and belly. So now I'm wondering what's going on, if it's chicken pox, hand foot mouth or something else. Guess time will tell..... Oh, and chopped 3-4 inches off of my hair, it's been driving me nuts!!
