Keeping in Touch

Katie87 - 10:17pm Jan 6, 2012 EST

Hello All- I have a non-medical related topic here. I wondered if anyone out there tried to keep in touch with nurses at all after NICU stay? I have a facebook and thought about making one for my preemie so people can watch her progress like family and friends and maybe nurses? I just feel like they are family and I plan on taking them something to show my sincere gratitude here soon. Any ideas? I know they have reunions for preemies years down the road. I don't know maybe it's too weird but to have these people that basically mothered my baby when I could not I just got attached to some of them and would love for them to watch my baby grow.

Come to ShareUnion 2012: It's the BEST weekend ever!!!

Not only do we still keep in touch with my son's primary nurse she is now the god mother to our younger son, and we vacation together. She is like family now and my boys both call her Aunt Katherine. I am also friends with her, and several other people from the NICU, on facebook. It's a great way for them to all stay updated on how Nathan is doing.

Hello All- Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and added a bunch of them on facebook so we can keep in touch. A lot of her nurses I'm not sure of their last names but hopefully these nurses will pass it along. I grew attached to many of them.
